Places to eat in Great Yarmouth
Discussion
As the title suggests, Im looking for places to eat in Great Yarmouth (close to centre would be better)
Worked there all last week and it was a real pain finding places at short notice. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, far from it. Any frankie and bennys, chain pubs. basically anywhere with decent food. (No currys places please, cant do spicey foods)
thanks for any response

There aren't many decent places to eat in Great Yarmouth but I could list lots a few miles away around the Broads. The Olive Garden on Regent Street is decent enough though. If you fancy a drive try the Ferry Inn at Reedham or nip into Norwich for a good no-frills chinese in the Hong Kong in Prince of Wales Road.
I don't really know that area James, I guess driving along a47 towards Norwich is the best idea and come off at the Thorpe/Boraodland Business park junction and head towards the city on the old Yarmouth road that runs along the river, there are a few place to eat along here or if you carry on the a47 to the Ipswich turning A140 and turn right heading toards the city you will find the Marsh Harrier just past Tesco which is a chain but is ok if thats your bag.

Im actually staying in Acle (travelodge on the A47). So dont mind driving.
Ahhh, the Travelodge at Acle! I stayed there a few times during the nineties!Best head for Prince of Wales road in Norwich - plenty to choose from or the Ferry In at Reedham as I mentioned is a country pub with excellent food. If you want something a bit posher The Lavender House in Brundall is good or for something a bit cheaper but still really good and with a nice view of the river boats while you eat, try The Bridge Restaurant at Wroxham.
I live just outside Norwich. My recommendations are:
"The Ratcatchers" at Cawston (near Aylsham).
The "Olde Buck" at Honingham on the A47. (Gastro pub - & not expensive).
The "Swan" at Ringland (Taverham/Costessey) for Australian menu's (Crocodile/Ostrich etc!!). They have a good website with menu's. Website is called "A taste of Oz". Highly recommended...
The "Bird in the Hand" at Wreningham - near Hethel. Lotus use this daily to entertain clients. Owned by my wife's cousin (plug!).
