Guilty pleasures?
Discussion
I am just cooking some southern fries in the oven and there is some bacon crisping under the grill and spaghetti in tomato sauce in a pan on the hob.
Once they are all done I am going to just dump it together on a plate with two slices of buttered white bread on the side.
I know it isn't healthy and is hardly a culinary masterclass but it is my favourite snack. Does anyone else have a council-house-classic guilty pleasure?

stuff about a REALLY unhealthy bacon sarnie.
I put two sliced of white bread underneath the grill meshPlace bacon on top of grill mesh and place under grill.
Bacon fat drips onto bread which then toasts
Assemble and eat. Nom nom nom nom nom.
Also butter bread and then toast it. Instant fried bread.

I had a friend at uni who was a rather large chap (6'10") and had a healthy appetite to match, however he wasn't the ebst of cooks.
When I used to go round there for food this was the best he could manage (one for each person), and it was brilliant:
Whole loaf of unsliced white bread completely hollowed out to form a bowl and vaguely buttered inside (saves on washing up)
3 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, some beans and some mushrooms all fried up/heated on the hob. Sometimes and egg or two as well.
Once all extras are cooked tip them into the bread
Bit of black pepper and brown sauce
Grate lots of cheddar on top
Then all you have to do is find a way of eating it.....
Suffice to say I never went hungry when I ate at his.

Corned beef hash with fried egg on top, beans on the side. Absolutely superb.
Microwave curries. I work shifts for the ambulance service and some sort of health and safety bullst means we can't be trusted with a hob or an oven in our new all singing, all dancing control room, so I end up living on Tesco microwave curries, and I fear I am becoming addicted.
Sausage, chips and beans. Reminds me of school.

Fried bacon (decent stuff from the butchers not prepackaged rubbish), fried egg, two thick slices of fresh granary bread.
Never understand why so many people have to hide the taste of such things by covering it ketchup or brown sauce.
What kind of guilt would you feel eating that?Never understand why so many people have to hide the taste of such things by covering it ketchup or brown sauce.
