"THIS COMPETITION JAAAST. GETS. TAFFAAHH."
Really struggled to pick a 'best dish' this time.
So I've simply gone with what I'd order right here, right now if I had a menu in front of me.
A nice slab of Cactussed's terrine with the sweet potato running through it just appeals to me at the moment. I also quite like the idea of people doing starters, lunches or one-off dishes (Anna & Gavster worth mentioning here) rather than a whole main course.
But feck me, I'd eat any and all of the entries on show this week. Great stuff folks.

Quite agree.Added to that I really enjoyed cooking this week. I don't normally think so much about what to cook and don't experiment as much.
I suppose normally I'm more 'ready steady cook' with what is available than 'masterchef' (while not claining to be a masterchef!) but it was a lot of fun putting a bit more effort into it and having to work with specific ingedients.
Tough choice this week. Could do with more than one vote!
All look great, but decided that if they all were on a (posh) pub menu, I would order Bullett's after re reading the menu 10 times!
I was tempted to give it a go, as I like duck (one of week 1 ingredients I don't eat), but in the end I was away last weekend. I'll give it a shot one week!

PH - pies matter.
you should try the duck anna, it really was worth it - though i cannot stress enough that you open the foil outdoors! i have seen a recipe that smokes it with star anise, tea and orange peel which i may try. if i can perfect that then its a sure fire knicker loosening dish

Anna's gone friom hero to zero this week, I thank the person who voted for my pie when such a fantastic other duck pie was a lot better! Thanks mum, get Aunti Gladys to vote too, cheers.
Regards
Andy
A pie has to win sorry, despite the other great, great efforts. However, the only way I can differentiate between the 2, is that unfortunately I can't tell if zakelwe's is a fully enclosed pie, or just a casserole with a lid.
So on that note... the Carmarthenshire vote goes to the Captain.

Didn't you see the attempts at my base? However the other pie was better. CaptainZep v Corporal Punishment considering what happened So on that note... the Carmarthenshire vote goes to the Captain.

all sauces must be enoyed in a mug. i hope its not just me who does this. started when i was little, my mum makes the best yorkshire pudding gravy [yorkie batter, onions, beef juices and i have no idea what else!] which i used to beg for a cupful. any amazing sauces are therefore whacked into a mug for my lardy pleasure
only 2 comps in and it looks like comfort food is the PH favourite over pretension. I went all out for this and still haven't cleaned the kitchen properly!
