I used to eat a lot of tuna and pasta - cant stand it now!

If you want something cheap to fill you up for breakfast, I used to everyday put two cups of porridge oats in a blender with a pint of milk and a bannana or two!

Look on Amazon for a book called 'More Grub, Less Grant', by Cas Clarke. It's the updated version of the student classic 'Grub on a Grant'.

By 'updated', I'm presuming it now includes such modern student staples as sun-dried tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella... rolleyes

That sounds awesome. My wife makes a smoothie for her breakfast most days. Consequently we have a whole world of fruit to hand. I'll have to give that a go, as I must be better about eating something for brekky. I usually ignored the fruit on the way down to the meat shelf of the fridge..

I had a .22 air rifle and an old 12 bore shottie.

Rabbit, woodie, even the occasional pheasant were all commonplace on our student table. Game Pie... cloud9

Seriously though, big sack of tatties from makro or lidl would last for ages. Rabbit curry is good too.

I didn't spend that much on food, spent fking loads on beer though drunk

I have a banana with cereal every morning for breakfast. Very tasting, filling and keeps you going for 5-6 hours. Porridge oats and banana is the best!

I cooked lots of pasta, and curries from memory. And when I visited mum and dad, I would visit the cannery in the town, and stock up on cases of tomatoes cheap from the factory sales, so the pasta sauces I made were usually tomato based, and Italian style casseroles.
And usually have a bbq's during the summer.
