What was the consensus on chips on a FEB? They aren't for me for breakfast, but could accept a few for lunch, although they are unnecessary filler imo.
That's a lot of black pudding tho, i can only manage one bit, eaten a little bit at a time together with the other items... getmecoat
Halloumi (maybe feta though) and olves i wouldn't want on my breakfast but i go to an English place for FEB. not a fan of black pudding..

Felt right to have this today

Honestly can't imagine a better Turkish / feb combo. Plenty of salt on the chips.

No chips unless you’re northern and in Magaluf on a stag

nono We don't do chips on FEB up here in the northern territories. Hash browns or potato cakes up here. It's a southern softy thing to have chips on them.

Chips have a place, but only accompanied with eggy eggs and cheap white buttered(probably marg) bread.

And ketchup. That's the correct condiment here. Double egg and chips (not fries) for tea makes me happy smile

Care to rethink that now knowing he’s having olives for breakfast smile
Olives and squeaky cheese is a bit weird!

Halloumi is quite salty - so works well if you’ve been in the pop day before. Usually comes with slice tomato instead of beans - but uncooked tomatoes are the devils testicles - hence the beansge.

What do you class as northern territories out of interest ?

Prefer chips over hash browns TBH, but also have been known to have bubble and squeak.

Yorkshire upwards but even when I used to drive for a living which resulted in having a FEB every day somewhere in the country, I've never seen chips on the menu as part of a FEB anywhere north of London.smile

I thought that the committee had ruled that chips were acceptable as part of FEB when served after midday and particularly as part of a high tea.

Which poses another question inspired by the tangential northern territories discussion, is the term high tea just a Northern / Scottish thing? Say anywhere above an E- W line passing through East Midlands around Nottingham.

Bacon is from Chatsworth estate farm and is absolutely delicious. Cured in molasses I think.
I like it a lot.

Having also had that bacon from Chatsworth I can confirm it's loveliness.

I'm Leeds born'n bred - but live in the South East now. (TBH lived down here longer than I lived up North now) But still class myself as a Northerner.

I've vague memories of the Redbeck Cafe just outside Wakefield having chips on the Brekkie menu (think it was their All day Inclusive Breakfast) So may/may not break the North South divide.

As others have said - pretty sure the FEB powers that be in an extraordinary meeting did grant chips equal status with Hash Browns.

Anyhoo - it still hit the spot/tasted bloody lovely !! smile

The only time I request chips on my FUP is when i'm abroad. I don't know why either.

I can indeed confirm that the McCain Accord of 2019 included the clause that various versions of potato based chips were allowed after midday. This can be brought forward by 30 minutes for roadside establishments.

Severe penalties can be imposed upon those miscreants violating this rule.

Ps no High Tea up here in the NE. Think you have to go a little bit further north for that... to the Other Place I believe.
