Don probably. He has something of a penchant for cheap plonk Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
The problem with the question "recommend me a Red wine" is that it's a little like "recommend me a car". For what? What are you going to do with it? Drink it by itself? Have it with food? If so...what food? Beef? Lamb? Curry?

worlds your oyster between 10 and 20 pounds! Lots of world class wines
Where are you based and what is your local wineshop/supermarket?
Tescos have some nice wines at that price range, even a couple of decent french wines.
Try the Chateau Lussac. Very rich and easy to drink for a good value bordeux
If you have an Oddbins then grab the Condado De Haza (spanish)- Made by one of the world great wine makers.
South African wine above 10 pounds is usually pretty good. Try the Glen Carlou Syrah which used to be in Oddbins.
Ozzy stuff abouve 10 pounds is a bit more three dimensional than the usual low end supermarket fodder. Ignore the Rosemount and Wolfblass stuff in tescos if it is under a tenner but try the Rosemount Balmoral Syrah or the Wolf Blass presidents selection stuff. The Gemtree and D'arenberg stuff in Oddbins is good.
The tesco finest Barolo is a nice drop. It has tannins but they are well balanced and it wont taste like a horrible acid cheap bordeaux.

Had a lovely bottle of Castillo San Lorenzo Fincas (around a tenner from Tescos IIRC - had it lying in the rack for a month or two) last weekend... It went beatifully with a couple of sirloins - even the missus liked it and she's not normally into reds... had to share it as a result - hmmmph!
I quite like this, regularly in majestics deals :

Les Crouzes Old Vines Carignan is good, and very cheap - £4.99 at the Co-op!
Jeez!,
cheers folks, some ace work here
To answer a few questions:
1) not fussed about food, this is more for quaffing without food (and as stated above looking for reasonable body but VERY easy on the tannins)
2)I'm located in the Bristol area - not sure if we have an oddbins close at hand, will check
Looks like I'm going to be buying some xmas wine this weekend, cheers all!
