To answer a few questions:

1) not fussed about food, this is more for quaffing without food (and as stated above looking for reasonable body but VERY easy on the tannins)

2)I'm located in the Bristol area - not sure if we have an oddbins close at hand, will check

Try Avery's of Bristol. They are sole importers of some very tasty Kiwi wines, as well as a lot of other interesting stuff besides. Well worth the trip.
