Did anyone see the tv programme a while ago about farmers growing sprouts. Apparently, the way to really eat them is fresh off the stalk with just the very botton of the stem cut off. Its the only way to compare flavours and ripeness...........

Bubble & squeak made with sprouts is superb. Fry to a black crust, serve with leftover turkey and a spoonful of pickled cabbage. Nom nom nom.
