Good Evening Chaps

We have a duck ... We also have no idea how to cook said duck. (Christmas)

The bird in question is around 3lbs in weight. I believe although will change if I am weigh (geddit) off the mark.

I have also been told that due to the fat, it must be cooked on a rack?

How far from the bottom of the rack to the tray will this need to be?

Any advice is highly appreciated and any seasoning too. Although not too outlandish as we don't like anything too fancy.

Just sit it on a load of veg/onions etc to create a base for it so that it doesn't sit in it's own juices and cook it like you would a chicken. It really is that simple.
