I know I ought to have better things to do.....

Our table mats have got really scabby and I've been on a hunt for some new ones. I quite fancy some black leather or more likely faux leather ones but some of them are really cheap looking.

No particular colour scheme in mind other than something that goes with all sorts of different colours as we're going to be redecorating in the next couple of years.

Soooooo...show me your table mats please!

No pics but we have slate ones from justslate.co.uk. They were fairly dear but are proving very durable, are easy to clean and look very nice in a rustic sort of way.

We have 8 placemats, 12 coasters, 2 big rectangular trivets and 2 square trivets. They were a wedding gift and are used every day as well as for special occasions.

They look really nice and slate is the other thing that I've been looking at. The cheeseboard looks fab, I wonder if it would be wrong to buy that for hubby for his birthday?!

As bad as being bought a hoover for Christmas? (I've never done that!)

If he really likes cheese then it's fine! Like buying a serious whisky drinker a good set of tasting glasses.
