Lager, topped with cola.

TBF, I tried it; 3:1 ratio - one in favour of beer, another in favour of cola. The cola one tasted better, but I still won't be ordering it. Ever.

My experiment was loosely conducted at a dinner table with two Italians and one Greek. We decided not waste any more beer than necessary (although I was on the rosso).

One bottle of Nelson Mandella and one can of Reo Coker, both reasonably refreshing drinks on their own in the right circumstances.

I can't see how mixing these two together in any combination can make either taste any better.

I tried these at a Hotel by the Nurburgring last year after me and my mate watched the bar man pour a load of these for some German lads, after they got rather merry (and we did) we ordered ourselves some, rather tasty I might add. He put in only a small amount of Coke, like the amount of Lime or Blackcurrant you would put in a Lager if thats your sort of thing.

Grandfather regularly made this for us as children. He called them "Shandy" though I know that is not what is commonly known as Shandy in this country.

I don't know what measures he used, but there can't have been too much lager in as my 5 year old brother was still able to walk in a straight line after he drank his.

For Lager tops there should be no more than about 2cm of lemonade added any more and you are drinking shandy.

Normally mixed with weiss bier. Ask for a Cola weizen. They also add banana syrup to a weiss bier too.

Both taste foul in my opinion.
