Rubbish question I know but I just generally fail in the kitchen. Anyway for Christmas I got a toastie maker, (a Homer Simpson one hehe ) and it is brilliant but I have absoloutly no imagination on things I could put in toasties. So far there has been ham and tuna (not at the same time).

Any more ideas?

And also New Year and all the healthier the better.

TIA

ham, cheese and pineapple works a treat, like a mini hawaiian pizza.. cheese and anything really. brie and cranberry paninis are good so would also work

Chicken, sweetcorn and mayo works well. Also, chicken and cheese... sounds weird, tastes fab!

lick

Some good suggestions.

Liking the cheese even if not healthy.

Am thinking there must be something I can do with mushrooms to, I like mushrooms.

You can't go wrong chucking some (bits of) shallots and anchovies in.

Given that the cheese and ham is most at home in one of these you could try variations, for instance a nice mature brie with sliced meat of your choice would be good. Given the number of different types of cheese and sausages/hams you could have an infinite number of permutations.

I think I'd opt for a less salty blue cheese and smoked duck slices.

cheddar cheese and baked beans. The effort cleaning afterwards is more than made up by the taste1

Slight variation use Spam instead of ham, the filthy taste is just devine!

You want a smattering of chilly sauce on that too.

I thought the same back at uni in 1994 - until I tried one and found it was delicious smile
