As a final year student I session twice a week, out of term time it probably goes down to once a week. To tell you exactly how much I drink on a night out would be very hard as it varies by place I go and bank balance at the time, also by the end of the night it can be very hard to add up exactly what I have drunk.
I've pretty much cut it out now, for the last 2 years around this time I've suffered with stomach ulcers which isn't really helped by the old drink so as soon as it started bothering me I cut it out. At the moment I'll only have one pint of Guinness if I find myself in a particularly good irish bar, otherwise I can happily live without.
I'll probably stick like this for a while, I'm feeling pretty good with it and it's not affecting my social life in any way.

At the moment the Missus and I are keeping Monday to Wednesday alcohol free. I have given up beer (I hate this) completely other than the very, very occasional lunch with the chaps. No beer at home...it makes me fat.
Thurs to Sun I'll have a half-bottle of wine with dinner and a nightcap (or two, or three if I bloody well feel like it)!

I used to drink far more than I do now.
Back then I'd have a couple of pints at lunchtime, maybe one or two on the way home then after dinner I'd pop out for a few more - maybe three or five. So I was drinking up to nine pints a day and barely noticing it. Friday nights and all day Saturday would see 6 to 10 pints and maybe a few shorts. This necessitated either kebabage and/or curry so at the ripe old age of 40 I found myself at about 16 stones (100kgs) and less than fit.
Long story short, don't do the lunchtime or homeward beerage at all now and out only three or four times a month plus the odd beer with a meal out. Recently been pretty good at the gym (again). 80kgs and pretty happy with my overall diet and fitness.
It wasn't easy to change - mates thought I was ill or mental. Some of them still do.
Much happier in myself though.

Maybe 1-3 pints a week mostly english ales I used to get a few different ones every week. Although now I've tried every ale in the ale section at tesco so just go for my favorites Either fullers esb, london pride,Old empire.
Nottingham beer festival this weekend though 50 quality beers on tap
IIRC the beermat in the Licolnshire Poacher said there were 48 beers this weekend at the Canalhouse Beer Festival; (not to be confused with the big one at Nottingham Castle). So there. lolNottingham beer festival this weekend though 50 quality beers on tap

Nothing Monday to Thursday, always out on a Friday, either to the local and drink either Batham's bitter (heaven) or Holden's Golden Glow, usually around 8 of them, or out in town and drink the same, Guinness if no RA available.
May go out on a Saturday night, will always drink real ale, especially if I haven't seen/tasted it before, about the same amount. Sometimes out at Saturday lunchtime and will down a couple of pints of RA.
Tend to drink red wine with food, not a big wine buff, but dont like the strong stuff like Rioja.
Dont touch lager unless i'm abroad.

personally i found my drinking habit is almost none existant, doesn't stop me going out and having a good time, but i usually volunteer for the designated driver as alcohol just doesn't bother me. but will have a couple if im round a mates house and haven't got to drive
at the rip old age of 21 all my mates call me the old man of the group even though i think im one of the youngest

Over the last 6 months I've reduced it to a short or two one night in the week and one night over the weekend. Never on a Sunday as Monday is bab enough without a hangover.
I had got in to the habit of having a few 5 nights a week and it is just no good for you. The extra calories are not worth it, never mind the expense. Also the shock of taking the recycle bin out and finding it brimming with wine bottles and beer cans made me feel guilty. My partner drinks about twice a month and then only a few.
I do see how it is habit-forming and can lead to people being reliant on it though.
