Ungodly hangovers have proved an effective cure to most of my school night drinking over the last couple of years. Still manage to share a bottle of wine with SWMBO once or twice a week, a few pints on Thursty Thursdays (not enough to feel bad on Fri), then a goodly amount of decent ale (usually whatever guest our pub has on) on a Friday. Sat morning spent declaring I will never drink again. Always have to venture up to the pub on a Sunday afternoon - its the law isn't it? God i'm stuck in my ways!

Fridays and Saturdays are my main drinking days, but occaisionally on the odd weekday lunchtime too. Strictly Real Ale for me, i very much enjoy trying/tasting different brews!

Got the local Booze On The Ouse festival to enjoy next month too, 50+ mainly locally produced beers and ciders/perry to get stuck into! beer

At the beginning of the semester at university my drinking was ridiculous. It's hard to say exactly how much I drank (can't remember and tended to switch from beers to spirits to wine) but I would say in the region of 6-10+ pints about 3-4 times a week.

Felt like st, and have cut down dramatically to something like 2-3 pints a couple of times a week with a view to cutting it out altogether.

Seems like it's the young 'uns that are the least partial to a drink on here(!). I know that as an 18 year old student I should be ruined all the time, but I'm sick of the hangovers, looking knackered, was putting on weight and I didn't really like the drunk me.

Actually finding it more difficult to cut out than I thought I would, but I think it's the social aspect - all my friends are fairly heavy drinkers.

Probably averages out at about 1/2 bottle of wine a night during the week but can include various ales, and normally a shot or two of whisky too. I do try and have a day or 2 without drinking each week, largely because my other half tells me to! I tend to drink less at weekends, except for last weekend when I went out with 4 friends and we got through 10 bottles of wine in a bar....

At the moment, nothing. Am doing it for around 4 months to help with the training and general weight loss. After that I will consider reintroducing it, but i'm not so sure. I quite like not drinking if i'm honest. nerd

You?

Drinking?

Absurd notion. I refuse to believe it.
