Obviously there is other fillings too to bulk it out, but how many eggs should go into an omelette in your opinion....

If it's just for me, then I use three. But then I have the likes of a salad with it.

4 egg whites and one yolk. Red onion, mushroom and turkey or ham. Usually chuck chilis in there too.

Mmmm.

three for me, though I never realised that you could (or should?) make it with extra whites/yolks... what kind of result does doing that achieve??

Yikes. Am I the only one who can demolish a 5 or 6 egg omelette filled with bits and bobs and still feel the spot hasn't been hit?

I too use 3.

I also add salt, pepper, cheese, red & white onion, bacon, ham, chorizo & whatever else I happen to find.

I normally use two.

Also add spring onion, mixed peppers, jalapeno, tomatoes, sausage and bacon.

Using extra yolks makes it richer. Using extra whites makes it less rich. wink

Nope, I'll put more in if the neighbour drops off lots of eggs, four is just enough for me with some pepper, toms, onion and ham. Served with bread too.

Two, plus half an eggshell of water. (Apparently that's how the French do it.)

Jesus. How big are some of you guys? I'm 6ft2 and 15st or so, and have a decent appetite; but could only really manage a 3-egg affair. Between this and "Photo your meal" thread, I feel like a bloody anorexic...
