what to cook for 7 people?
Discussion
Hello!
Got a few mates coming at the weekend and I have said I would cook for them on sat night!
Needs to feed 7 mouths, no veggies
No slow roast pork type thing, I want something reasonably quick!
I have a gas bbq I could use!
I was thinkins something like a really nice jamie oliver green chilli, but I've already made this for them!
Prehaps a piella. Curry (indian or thai)
Any ideas?

spagbol.
Big lasagne (make yourself) + chips from the local chippie as a cheat (you will probably only need 3-4 bags of chips).
Risotto.
Mexican (make up a load of mince and buy bags of salad & tortilas etc)
Southern chicken with salad etc
Sliced meats & cheese with toast/bread & biscuits (can you still buy mixed cooked offcut meats from a butcher?) pickles, tomatoes etc.
ETA - corned beef hash with nice chunky (possibly hedgehog) bread - Im making myself hungry now..

Mixture of gals and guys!
But they would all be happy eating curry/chilli!
Just wanted to do something a bit more `impressive` than a bowl of chilli!
The tandori salmon looks tasty tho!
Anything other than burgers, kebabs and sausages I could bbq?
You can BBQ all meats so pork or lamb chops, gammon, any fish, any seafood. You could also do your veg on it, bbq'd carrots, potatoes swede. But they would all be happy eating curry/chilli!

The list really does go on.
Kebabs are nice as they are a nice mix (veg and meat), Jamie Olivers, chicken, lamb and fish kebabs are all nice, teamed up with nan bread and pitta bread and some nice sauces and salad are a nice change to the usual english traditional BBQ.
I like to do toast on a BBQ too. Might try to do cheese on toast nexxt time see how it goes.
Get 7 poussin, you know, the small chickens.
Spatchcock them the day before and marinade with salt, pepper, chili, garlic, oregano and cumin, olive oil and the juice of a lemon.
Start them in your oven and give them 30 mins at 190c, then finish them on the BBQ over a high heat for a few mins to blister the skin and improve the taste.
I'd serve with a massive salad, some spiced red lentils and a huge french stick, baked, that you cut along its length and stuff with a parsley, salt, chili and garlic butter.
But only if they are prepared to eat it with their fingers.
