Anyone got a recommended mail order meat supplier?

Looking specifically for decent baby back ribs & big chicken wings.

I'll no doubt add some burgers & nice sausages to the order but they're not a priority..

No doubt there will be loads of suggestions, but if you're within the M25 you can try my favourite butcher as they deliver:

I know they do wings as I've bought them instore, but online I think you need to call and add to the order, which will probably put you off.
Their steaks, burgers and all the usual stuff is amazing.

I use either Farmison’s or Great British Meat Co

https://www.farmison.com/

https://greatbritishmeat.com/

Both excellent IMO.

Just out of interest why mail order and not a local butcher?

We used to use a single local butcher to us, but there are now 3 options we have in a 5 mile radius, if not more. All have provenance and a choice although admittedly each one seems to specialise in slightly different meats, cuts or flavours.

Thanks for the aboe suggestions - not in the m25 - further up north - nottingham / Derby area.

We have a couple of local butchers - who i've used to varying degrees of success in the past.

Couple more to try who have had some recommendations but thought i'd also check out what offerings we have online.

Mixed grill for tea tonight, pork and beef. 5 hours on the smoker. The pork wasn’t up to much, it was a cheap joint from Asda but the beef was quality.

When I was in the UK, I used Turner & George mail order for Brisket.

Very good indeed.

Turner and george are very good. I used to work next door and they would occasionally have a big green egg out front in the summer cooking brisket. Lovely.

Ribs above... Three hours indirect on the Weber. Final hour unwrapped.

Chicken wings to go with them plus some chilli's, deseeded, stuffed with cream cheese, cheese & spring onion, wrapped in bacon finished on the dying embers.

It was pretty damn good....

Had some Bavette so tried to cook them dirty on the bbq. Worked out really well actually!

Going to get some cheap cuts and see how I get on doing them like this

First time using the AK last night. Done a beer can chicken with a homemade Cajun style rub & Budweiser spritz every 10 minutes or so. 70 mins at 185ish (bouncing between 180 & 195 a wee bit).

Chicken was wonderfully succulent but lacking in smoke flavour. Used hickory and oak chips but think they burnt off too quick - next time I’ll bury them in the coals rather than sitting on top.

Did you presoak the wood chips ? Helps them last and make more smoke....

Soaking chips is a waste of time and energy, you have to drive off moisture before they start to combust, best using actual chunks instead of chips.

I wrote chips when I meant chunks. I think they just burnt off too quick as they were sitting on top of the coals & I was waiting for blue smoke vs white smoke. Next time I'll hedge my bets - bury some and scatter some ontop.

A decent cut of meat, olive oil and old bay, I'm thinking of adding a little sugar next.

Charred and tasty!
