Is that for the BGE? If so where's it from?
I have a kamado Joe and the above is a Let’sQ rotisserie from Meat Smoke Fire. They sell ones for BGEs too.Found another one that is a bit cheaper still which looks identical to mine: https://www.grdengrills.co.uk/products/rotisserie?...
The knock offs are formed from sheet metal whereas the real deal is, I believe, cast aluminium.
I also can’t get the thing for holding the deflector plates and grills in at the same time as this, I don’t know if the real one is the same or not.
A couple of nice sized 'New York Strip' steaks....

Some smoke ......

with balsamic onions, mushrooms, charred asparagus, tomato with herbs, and some cole slaw & chips.
Steak 3 by Andy B., on Flickr
and the middlle still just ever so slightly pink. - Nice and juicy !

I have this very thermometer - it's OK for the price but does have an annoying tendency to drop connection briefly every now and then - pretty sure this is more like a 'normal' price and the 50% off is a bit of a red herring but it was bought as a present for me so not 100% sure.50% off Inkbird IBT-4XC Waterproof Bluetooth BBQ Thermometer

Pretty good value but you do get what you pay for.

I'll see how it goes. £30 isn't much, but I want to see how I get on doing slow cooks. If I enjoy it, I'll spend a bit of dosh etc.

edit to add: Not sure if you aware of the Inkbird support FB page but they are very proactive to any issues, I had a problem with an instant read breaking and they sorted out a replacement within 2 days.
The 2X normally sells for about £25 so if you got this for £30 I'd say that was a pretty good deal.
Hmm, any ideas?
I've been asked to do a bbq for our bootcamp fitness group. It'll be at the rugby club pavilion/bar we train at, so all good.
However, I only use charcoal. Will do a pork shoulder during the day to take there, and my aquaforno to grill kebabs there.
Any ideas for a quick/safe way of clearing and transporting the coals once I've finished cooking?

Quick bit of advice please chaps....
Bought an Onlyfire GBS cats sear grid ....
https://www.holydogwater.com/product/B087GFY5K7/
Is it likely to need seasoning before use ?
If so, best method ?

Cook at home, then double wrap the meat in tin foil and put in a cooler box, and take it to the event. It'll stay hot for hours.I've been asked to do a bbq for our bootcamp fitness group. It'll be at the rugby club pavilion/bar we train at, so all good.

This is the time to reni dyiu of the halloumi soaking/boiling water trick.
Soak for an hour. Then douse in boiling water and let it sit in the heat for a while. Then cook for superb, non rubbery texture with lowered salt.
I had already made a mental note to search for that trick!Soak for an hour. Then douse in boiling water and let it sit in the heat for a while. Then cook for superb, non rubbery texture with lowered salt.
So many thanks, you've saved me some effort, much appreciated as always.
I'm assuming I can do that a couple of hours before, then make up kebabs and cook later?

My pleasure, and absolutely! A bit of rubberiness may creep back in of the cheese gets totally cold before grilling, but still a massive improvement over standard. So many thanks, you've saved me some effort, much appreciated as always.
