Yes, you can grill crisp packets and they shrink but the foil (it's not real foil, it's plastic foil, whatever that means) makes them distort. This won't be going on my keyring.

As a kid in the sixties before quality assurance and standardisation gone mad, most packets would contain quite a few rogue thinner and very dark almost burnt crisps - they were like gold dust for me (a bit like being the lucky one and pouring out the toy in a bowl of Cornflakes in front of your Sister) so much like I had to search and find them before offering them around I've waited for years for some company to actually make them 'dark' on purpose!
Likewise Quavers would often contain what some would call a couple of stale ones that were sort of chewy but rammed with cheesy flavour

These are getting more and more available in Europe (at a price), previously my stepdaughter used to bring them back from Mexico. Awesome.

I once saw them on one of those highly trustworthy internet top five lists of the deadliest snacks in the world, potentially leading to heart problems. Love ‘em!

Probably a bit against the grain posting in a 'crisps' thread, but these used to contribute to a decent portion of my girth - a bag would be gone within 15-20 minutes and would habitually grab a couple of bags whenever I was near a Waitrose. Thankfully they were discontinued and i've not yet managed to find something that matches the piquant savoury flavour with the greasy, crunchy texture of a deep-fried bagel slice

im fairly sure the dearly departed and missed phileas fogg snacks (the originals not the revamp a few years ago) did something similar in a purple pack, unless my childhood brain is playing tricks.

The local shop sells the ones in the image. They are quite interesting and leave a lime-type linger on the palate. Likely all of the odd chemicals working their way into one's central nervous system.

i'd love to taste snacks from the 1970s/80s. We'd assume they haven't changed much other than in size but i bet they'd be unrecognisable with all the sugar, salt and E numbers still in there! Monster munch, pot noodle etc!

Around 10 years ago Tesco had these jalapeno crisps on the shelves. They came with a sachet of chili powder, and my god were they amazing. Gradually over time they stopped including the sachet of chili powder which meant that they were just regular crisps, until eventually they discontinued them altogether. I still mourn for these crisps.



Any recommendations for something similar?
