I dont mind the small amount on toats with cheese ham and a bit of cucumber, but straight from the jar, thats too much for me.

Funny this, I don't usually collect things but I have bought a couple of each of the special edition marmite jars. One to eat and one to save for posterity. So I have the guinness, champagne, pedigree and XO varieties tucked away in the bottom of a cupboard at home, ready to be ebay'd in 20 years time. I think of it as my pension!

Tasty - but given the flavours of them, I ultimately prefer the original marmite. I've had some of the XO, but it's a bit meh.

This is a more recent representation of my Marmite collection... (Apart from the emergency spare jar I keep in my drawers, that is....)



Back on topic - I still don't get collecting foods...

Good to see our Aussie cousins getting in on the act with the Vegemite on the end there....

There are days when Vegemite tastes better than Marmite, but sometimes only Marmite will do..

We got the champagne one when it was in the shops a while ago, I think we still have one half-finished jar.

TBH it doesn't taste radically different, but when you first open it you get a definite whiff of champers.

I like the look of that chocolate bar...

The cereal bar was, to be honest, horrendous - it tasted like a normal cereal bar that someone had just chucked marmite in - too much sweet and salt that clashed as opposed to complimented.

Really? I loved it and the reason I won't buy it again is because I found it moreish and I would hoover up a lot of it in a very short space of time...

I've got to agree with CooperD, wasn't overly impressed. Marmite is excellent stuff and on toast, with cheese it is great. It does not make great cheese in itself though!
