lol, glad it's not just me that got excited!

I found it in a small shop in Victoria in the Seychelles.... had to get one and bring it home.
The labeling is from South Africa so I'd assume it's made for that market.

There was a problem last year getting large jars.

As it's a by-product of the brewing indstry and the brewers aren't making much beer there wasn't enough raw material for Marmite, so they stopped making large jars to control demand.

Had a real treat last night. Went for a takeaway at a Chinese restaurant I hadn’t used before. Checking out the menu I spotted, “Marmite Crispy Chicken!”
Well, it just had to be tried. Very dark sauce, with a slight hint of marmite, plus a hint of fruitiness. It was very nice, but today I have been drinking water like it is going out of fashion! Still, it was a small price to pay.
