I tried the Marmite Cheddar cheese the other day and have to admit that I didn't really like. I won't be buying it again.
Really? I loved it and the reason I won't buy it again is because I found it moreish and I would hoover up a lot of it in a very short space of time...

I've got to agree with CooperD, wasn't overly impressed. Marmite is excellent stuff and on toast, with cheese it is great. It does not make great cheese in itself though!
MMMmmm - Toast/marmite/cheese - MMMmmmm

Cheese, marmite and beans - cracking combination.

Marmite on first, hot beans on then grated cheddar over the top. Lush.

Marmite is the ingredient that transforms beans on toast into "King of Beans":

  • Heinz beans, on the lowest heat possible, for at least ten minutes until they go nice and mushy
  • Warburtons "green" super toastie, done under the grill. I shall permit use of a proper Dualit toaster in lieu of the grill.
  • Proper salted butter (not the easy spread rubbish) on the toast, which must NOT be squashed flat
  • Marmite on the toast
  • Beans on the toast
  • Grated strong cheddar on the beans
  • Freshly grpund black pepper and Lea and Perrins and/or Tabasco
There you have it. King of Beans.

Wife made me toast & marmite with scrambled egg this morning to help the hang over. Needs washing down with a Bacon roll though when I get to London.

Anything that is limited edition has collectors value, especially established brands.

I should have also mentioned that the first forkful MUST be hot enough to remove the skin from the roof of your mouth.

I'm willing to provide sexual favours (to attractive female phers), milling wheat, malting barley or a jam jar full of red diesel in return for a full jar of Guinness marmite

My collection of jars (they're getting on for mostly empty) is growing smile

Thanks toasty smile

The standard marmite jar is nearly empty and I've had to dig out the little "emergency" spare jar - The champagne marmite will be tried this morning - none of this save the jar for forever nonsense... (Something I might regret, but marmite's for eating!)

ETA - The marmite was very nice, slightly sweet, but very nice. I've asked my colleague next to me to advise anyone that tries to have some that that particular jar is off limits smile

The strong-smelling 100g bar is made with 98 per cent milk chocolate and two per cent Marmite flavouring. This includes yeast extract, onion powder and garlic powder.

The chocolate initially forms part of Marmite’s limited edition Christmas range.

James, I may have another jar for your collection (once the contents have been eaten - as it's standard Marmite you'll not be missing anything taste wise) - may I present the Goodwood vintage labelled Marmite!

Apologies for quality, excited iPhone camera taking as I have just picked this up from the Post Office (was birthday on Saturday and went to pick up late parcels) OMNOMNOMNOM
