Looks good - how's the taste and heat?!

I'm hoping to get back into growing chillies next year - any tips for making the sauce or shall I just hit up google?

Taste is a bit sweet and sour, and ho o o o ot.
Homegrown strain crossover between Thai Birdseye and Purple Haze..

Needs to mature in the back of a cold cupboard for 6 months or so, to let the spices do their work.

Method was: hot oil in pan, throw in chillies, stir occasionally for 10 mins, add a bit of pickling vinegar, then chopped garlic, bay, and half a jar of pickling spice. Cover with more vinegar. Add some tablespoons of Demerara, then half a tube of tomato paste, and salt. Adjust to taste. Add some water, simmer off a bit more. Part blitz, leaving some solids. Reduce for 20 to 30 mins. Take hot jars and lids out of oven, funnel it in, lids on, let cool, check lids all popped in. About an hour or so start to finish.

Been a while....

Finally managed to clear my stock.
What have you found recently?

Got some Tubby Toms rubs (very good) but after some everyday sauce.

I've been going through loads of this stuff just lately, not stupidly hot but really tasty.

I buy the litre bottles.

I picked this up (still working my way through last year's thread-inspired spree).

I picked it up due to the promise of Ghost, but there is a phantom spice level. Almost negligible.

This is probably standard fare

Not really a chilli sauce, I suppose. It is relatively spicy but evil the next day.

Just got a 1ltr bottle, not bad value at £16 inc postage.

I’ve had to give up on The Ribman sauces, they really play me up so I’m retiring from his range.

Will report back on the Voodoo sauce cool

I've been dissappointed in the lack of heat in the Wiltshire Chilli Farm offerings, partly because they screwed my order up, so interested to hear how these fare.

Looking for a more medium sauce that is tasty and has a bit of a kick for the less well seasoned chilli eaters at a bbq. Has anyone tried this and got any comments?

You need to buy some of this, I doubt you'll be disappointed with the heat smile

Not sure as it was a gift. I'll ask my mate to see where it came from.

It came from Pepper Palace, an American site.

Elliot Eastwick has launched a load of new flavours, so I've ordered some new Pineapple Ghost which is one of my favourites to date (alongside the haloween toffee treacle from last year) and promises more heat than last year's batch, some Reaper salt, Volcanic Vimpto and buffalo not-too-hot sauce. All of back-order, so await the delivery!

I like his stuff, but 200ml are no good, gotta be 1ltr sizes or it gets used up in 4 or 5 meals.
