Has anyone mentioned the cover of SOS by Portishead yet? I'm not going back through 104 pages to check.

I Still Miss Someone (original Johnny Cash):

or:

probably the best known version:

[

This is one of those cases where most of the covers are more enjoyable than the original, and I say this as someone who likes Johnny Cash's music.

Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy. Much better than Sting’s version. (in my opinion of course)

Postmodern Jukebox's cover of the Weeknd's I Would Die For You is astounding, especially live.

Saw them Sunday night at the Palladium, their 1,000th gig.

They have an incredible roster of singers and musicians - that gig featured Glen Campbell's daughter Ashley (great vocalist and banjo player), Ariana Savalas (another one with a famous father), who Is both a great vocalist burlesque performer.
Some superb British artists with them too - Emma Smith on vocals and percussionist Jack Amblin.

Very few people can get away with it. Jessie Buckley certainly can, this is at least 'as good' as the original:

I recently found this. I never knew she'd sung it......

That's very good. I mostly like the Blind Faith version but it's ruined by Baker randomly walloping that splash cymbal all the way through!
