Original- The commodores- Easy

Or Cover Faith no more - Easy

your opinions?
If I could only ever hear one of them again it would be the Faith No More version that edges it but I love the original too - the cover just needs the brass section. I think the "Ewww!" and guitar solo clinches it but Lionel is smoooooth.

If you're going to do a cover version, do it different ffs.

Faith No More's version of Easy and Nirvana's Man Who Sold The World sound no different from the originals.

So, my faves:

Frankie's Born To Run, so much more exciting that the soporific original.
Police and Thieves by The Clash, turns a pretty dull song by Junior Murvin into a classic.
Any cover that Grace Jones does (Love Is The Drug, La Vie En Rose). She always takes the original to a new level.
One by Johnny Cash. Can't stand U2, but this is a good song they wrote but couldn't perform properly. Johnny shows 'em how it's done.

Spot on. I always quote that as my favourite cover.

I agree to disagree, the nuances are subtle admittedly but Man who sold the world you say?

yes

The classic how-not-to for me was Kula Shaker's (sp?) version of 'Hush' by Deep Purple, which was played just the same, only less skillfully.

Not strictly a cover but I like this better than the original and can't help singing this version when it comes on the radio.

It's a rare exception that I think a cover is better, but I think Willie Nelsons version of The Scientist is one of these. He seems to give it some 'feeling'

I don't generally like Coldplay, but I liked Violet Hill. And when I heard this Pendulum cover on Radio 1 I actually had to down tools & just listen. Amazing.

I always preferred Alan Clarkes' version of Born to Run. And there's me with Springsteen tickets ordered!

thought that this could be interesting. As the title says what covers do you think are better than the original versions?

I'll start with this... Judas Priest doing a Fleetwood Mac song - love it
