Nightwish - Wishmaster.

I've no idea where I heard of Imaginaerum but I bought it and it is fantastic stuff so I bought some prior albums. Wishmaster is very good too.
Watch the End Of An Era concert from 2005 (its on youtube). Was the final one with their lead vocalist before she was sacked/left. One of the very few videos which you can really see how much the crowd are really loving it, and her vocals are amazing. A proper 'wish I was there' moment.
A bit late in reply to this, but if you like Imaginaerum and Dark Passion Play you'd probably like Delain. Their singer is amazing imho cloud9. Wish I'd discovered them sooner as I would have seen them play in Bristol last year in a heartbeat, I'm not listening to much else right now.

I admit I haven't explored the first five albums Nightwish much, but I got hold of Wishmaster the other day as it isn't on Spotify for some reason, it's certainly the bombastic Nightwish you expect wink The Wacken 2013 video sold me on them so perhaps a bit biased; I don't really want to get into the pitting the three singers like some want to do, as they're very much albums written for each and stand alone as great music, but I think they found a final form with Floor. I gotta say she kills both of the others live on a lot of the tracks (not that, as I hear, Anette Olzon wasn't great on some anyway).

What did you think of the latest album out of interest? It isn't bad by any means, but I was a bit underwelmed to be honest. Other than on perhaps two tracks Tuomas hasn't really pushed Floor, she has easily 2+ gears above anything on those. I'm interested what he does next.

Not a favourite group, by a mile, but def a favourite record - of the 70s.

Extended play version, but who cares, it was just a great time - like the decade before.

Love the first comment. Totally agree.
