I just dug out Laura Marling's first album.

Played loud in the garage while I did a bit of TVR fiddling. Fantastic!

Still TP. I haven't played anything but for nearly 2 months now!

Hadn't seen this clip before. 7 years ago, tightest f band in the world imo.

For some reason I was busy catching up with some Wishbone Ash from the last recorded appearance of the original line up in '73 (before it all fractured and then came back together late '80s).

I just switched to the original Live Dates album as well - then, following Twitter, noticed Whispering Bob's tweet to say it was 47 years to the day that he first broadcast on Sounds of the 70s, standing in one week for John Peel, and his sessions on the first show were ....

Tyrannosaurus Rex

And Wishbone Ash!!!!

From August 1970

Neat coincidence or what???

I occasionally listen to Argus, usually reserve it for long motorway journeys.

Caravan Palace.

Find myself listening to a lot of electro swing in the background these days.

On the 7:00 Kings Cross to Newcastle enjoying Pet Sounds 50th anniversary re-release. Not something I listen to a lot but when I do I'm reminded just how bloody great it is.

One of the must have albums surely.

And it's drowning out the noisy brats in front!

Kinks greatest hits on a long car journey.

Most tracks are unbelievable rubbish, the good tracks though are brilliant.

What I always find odd about Wishbone Ash (followed, watched them throughout the 70s - not so happy with the later re-incarnations) is how very rare it is to hear anything by them played on any radio stations. More especially when you're talking Argus, an album voted Best of the Year (Sounds magazine) in 1972. They must be the least played on radio of all the well-known 70s bands. Perhaps there is a D notice on them LOL.

Not yet decided whether to post this in the covers thread, but by golly this is obscure, to the extent that one of the 3 comments is by the singer biggrin
