It was on this day in 1980 that John Lennon was shot and killed outside his New York City apartment.

Imagine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOgFZfRVaww
Not listening to anything at the mo, but I do remember going into work on the Tuesday the 9th, knowing nothing about Lennon's murder.
One of the girl technicians who worked in my department was bawling her eyes out and I wondered what the heck was going on?
She was a massive Lennon fan. She was still sobbing later and when I went home.

Chapman served his sentence of 20 yrs and was eligible for parole. I think he's been denied parole 9 times since.
'Imagine' if he'd been incarcerated here in the UK. Would he now be out?

Just to add it wasn't Imagine she played a lot it was Happy Xmas (War is Over). She loved that song. I do too at this time of the year.

back on topic.

Actually forgot this was out, put it on in the gym the other evening. I genuinely couldn’t stop smiling laughing at how heavy, violent and aggressive it sounds. Perfection from Slayer, Repentless Killogy Live.

Lynched, Cold Old Fire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khJshMYQ90g

If ever a song summed up the mood of a nation during the dark days of the recent recession in Ireland then my old friends in Lynched, now known as Lankum, hit the nail well and truly on the head.

Could very well sum up the mood of our nearest neighbours tonight.

Most radio stations, the general election post-mortem. Bozza has been to see the Queen for a cup of tea and a Hob Nob.

A live band called Mighty fly, at a local pub.

Everything from Fleetwood Mac to ELO, and very good as well. Not too shabby for a local gig.
