so I've done a bit of Funk/Blues and some gothic metal recently

Today I'm feeling some AOR (really who decided this was the name of genre?)

Currently playing through "In Progress" by Work of Art, really like some songs, the rain and castaway stand out but i think I'll wander into some sleaze/glam later on.

Oddly...never bothered to listen to them so i might jump over and give them a try.

Put me off that someone who claims to be an expert but has dubious taste told me they were going to be the next big thing

The look alone might be enough to put some people off. Heard them as support to Metallica and they were excellent. Enjoyable rock.

Rare Boogie 80’s thing. Pretty sure it didn’t filter through until ‘85/6.

Fontaines DC - 'A Hero's Death'

Very 'The Fall' but I like it.

Come to think of it there are quite a few Mark E Smith influenced (soundalike) bands around at the moment - see also 'Do Nothing', 'Squid' etc

Really enjoyed it - reckon it’s been a good 5 years since I last listened to it.

For some weird reason I’ve got into blues of late.

Particularly people like

Chris Stapleton
Teddy Swims

And now I’ve found the Teskey brothers -

Good album, but I prefer Sea Change & Morning Phase.
Great lockdown albums, if you get what I mean.

A hitherto unknown jazz singer ( to me ) a John Hartman - what a find. Have picked up the album he did with John Coltrane which I now realise is a classic. Just shows you never stop learning.
