Very worthy of this thread and I've lost count of the times I've posted this in the music forum (sorry Kiteless, beat you to it again) - A beautiful 16m song that starts off so tender, then builds and builds, really going for it at around 11m15s in, incredible band, great performance:

'Again' by Archive live at Eurockeenes in 2006:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZTjzPPGAQM&fea...

And here's a stripped down acoustic live version, the emotion in the singers voice from 5m gets the goosebumps going (for me anyway):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF52fcoIqg4&fea...

Seeing them again in Paris and London in November and I can't wait.

Inspired by all of Beethoven's symphonies being played this week by the West Eastern Divan Orchestra, under the baton of Daniel Barenboim, I found this; reminding us that - despite being famous as a conductor - DB is still an incredible tinkler of the ivories.

The clip, BTW, is Beethoven's final movement of the "Moonlight Sonata", and Barenboim is working it.

This is one of the only ones I like of ACDC, the rest seem to merge into one.

I must have played this record a million times over the years, but it never seems to get old (to me at least):

Two that immediately spring to mind, for me.

Thin Lizzy - Still In Love With You

John Sykes' solo for me is one of the greats
Robbo was always the man to play that for me. That solo got Lizzy signed, they arrived with this new song they had written including that beautiful solo written by Gary Moore I might add, who had since left again to be replaced by Robbo. They convinced the guys that the then 18/19 year old Robbo had written it and imagine what he would wrote once he got going? Superb song and a good call smile

Them and the Feelgoods had it covered for me. I have been lucky enough to have seen them both in my youth, so many fantastic gigs. Whenever I hear Rodders doing his his Las Vegas stuff nowadays a little bit of me dies inside. frown

You have to include The Pirates in that list. Even manage to out pub-rock the Feelgoods (Wilko is a self confesed fan of Mick Green (RIP)).

Seen all these bands many times as a big R'n'B fan. Even saw Wilko and Mick do 'Goin' Back Home' together on stage at Dingwalls. Saw Wilko a few months back and he's still the king of those naughty rhythms.
As an aside...I saw The Undertones last night at the John Peel Creative Arts Centre fundraised in Norwich. Better than ever. Brilliant! X- Factor FFS ?

Yeah them too, I wasn't starting a list, just bemoaning Rod's descent into hell.
