How?

How in God's name have I not come across this band before?

I guess because I'm not into the thrash metal/death metal genres, so hearing how this band are described you might assume that's how they will sound but this is something completely different. This is how I think rock music should be - involving classical elements with an angelic, almost operatic, female vocal. And they've been doing this for over two decades!

By way of a Spotify playlist I came to watch some of their live performances on Youtube and I'm hooked. It's been a long time since I've felt inspired to go see a band live but this one looks like one of those I'll regret if I miss the opportunity and they end up ceasing touring so.....tickets for Wembley in December bought!
You'll most likely enjoy Epica too.

Thread bump again, but I've found Nightwish in the last few weeks through the YouTube rabbit hole of the vocal coach/producer/composer react videos like The Charismatic Voice/Elizabeth Zharoff linked above. I'm not sure which band or singer I was looking for when I got onto the vocal coach videos, but here we are, I watch them now, a lot. I'm not musical and don't sing, but if these coaches like a band they must be good hehe . I will make my way through the links in this thread, but I know the videos for Phantom, Ghost Love Score, Poet and the Pendulum, Greatest show on earth.

The vocal coach rabbit hole also led me to Jinjer in the last week or so, specifically the live session of Pisces... https://youtu.be/SQNtGoM3FVU

I do enjoy Epica but not as much - I don't like Mark Jansen's death metal growling that he insists on doing in almost every track. Probably would still enjoy seeing them live though.

The band I'm most enjoying listening to at the moment along with Nightwish are Leave's Eyes. Not sure if they're likely to tour again any time though?

Nightwish are my favourite band. Have been to Finland to see them a few times - magical! Their virtual show a few months back was great and I see they have started touring again - some great vids on YouTube of the warm up show and festival one from last night: https://youtu.be/LjiKOWGKDLc for starters.

Not the same without Marco but I hope he gets well and comes back next year.

Floor's YouTube channel is excellent too - she has to be up there as one of the best singers in the last 20 years.

I also have this bad boy cloud9
