What bands have totally amazed you recently!?
Not just a single here or there, but whole albums that sound fresh and special...

My most recent discoveries have been;
Eric Church
Black Keys
Foy Vance

Abagnale

Real Estate. Saw them last week & while I can see them getting into a rut, the choral harmonies & interlaced guitar work floats my boat for now.

Eric Church is fantastic, went to see him at the O2 ABC in Glasgow earlier this year and it was one of the best concerts I have been to smile

Is this the same Black keys that have been around since the early noughties. If you haven't heard them, try thickfreakness and the big come up. Cracking albums.

Lost interest in them a wile back though.

Nothing But Thieves - caught them at Brownstock in the Summer and been following them since. Proper quality band!

Also, quite liking Jutty Ranx.

Royal Blood's new album is superb.
Also Death From Above 1979. I know they have been around for a while but their new album is immense.

Not especially new, but Manchester Orchestra were superb at Shepherd's Bush Empire last month.

I'll second Royal Blood.

Lorde is still quite new and I like her.

Goodnight Lenin.

I've heard them once or twice on the radio the past couple of weeks and they sounded pretty good, similar to Band of Horses. I got the new album today and it's the first time in a long while that I've actually sat down and listened to an album right through without skipping any tracks.
