Percy Sledge, best known for recording the song When a Man Loves a Woman, inventing the toboggan, and being the first man known to have made a rude comment about shagging a cricketer's wife has died aged 73.

Quite outstanding record "When a man loves a woman". Rarely copied because very few singers could equal the original by Percy Sledge!
Really, that outstanding originl record has never been bettered or even equalled. Wonderful delivery and the man deserved his fame. RIP.

Steve Clifford: [in confessional] Used to, when I studied I would sing hymns, but now all I can sing is "When A Man Loves A Woman" by Marvin Gaye
Father Molloy: Percy Sledge.
Steve Clifford: What?
Father Molloy: It was Percy Sledge did that particular song. I have the album.
Steve Clifford: Oh...
