Whereas I went to see Morrissey last night and at 43 was slap bang in the middle of the age demographic. It was bloody great too!
Same when I go and see the Manic Street Preachers (I am 50)blueg33 said:

I'm going to see The Manics in May at Wembley Arena, four days after my 50th birthday.
Fantastic. I have seen them 5 times in the last 4 years. They were excellent at an outdoor gig at Bristol Harbourside.
Can't wait!!
Wife and I are over 40 now and still enjoy going to gigs. Saw Paramore recently and lots of young people around, but this band has been going for nearly 15 years! Saw Liam Gallagher and it reminded me of seeing Oasis back in 1996 so 21 years ago. Saw Stereophonics in Cardiff Uni last year and lots of students but again not exactly a young band so plenty older than me.
To be honest most young people seem to go to gigs to take photos or film it on their phones. Them spend the rest of the time on social media like instagram/facebook/snapchat showing off being at the gig or just chatting, and not actually enjoying it - very odd.
I still miss gigs of old, no cameras, no phones, just beer and listening to great music with mates.

I also went to the Manic’s gig at Bristol harbour, another first for me. They were excellent so going again to Cardiff in May.
Mate of mine's band (Huski) got a tour supporting "Robots In Disguise" a few years ago, so I trotted along to the nearest venue to lend some support. Immediately spotted, not only was I in a room full of 14-16 year old girls, but the only non-parent at the bar. Bit like the Little Miss Sunshine scene where dad realises the bloke sitting next to him at the pageant isn't a parent...Awkward. "Er, the drummer's a friend of mine....honest!"
Sod it, a good gig is a life affirming thing in a world awash with Cowell-O'matic-auto-tuned-landfill-pop-pap. 57 this year & 1 year away from the 40th anniversary of my first gig. Benicassim last year with a group of 50+ "blokes" - no chino's but, I confess, a few polo shirts, hopefully offset by several manky tour t-shirts. Also, The Good life with Mrs Fang in 2017 & Glasto in 2015 with my godson & his dad, along with a bunch of other solo outings..
Keep it up OP, Live music is far too important to be left in the hands of any particular age group or demographic. If they can write, play & perform - give them your money!

Wolf Alice don’t especially strike me as a ‘young ‘ persons band.Good album and I’d go if they were near and I’m 49.
Most of the audience seems to be twenty somethings with a mix of teens and younger kids with parents and older fans either side.I'm more of an old school prog and rock fan but really like Wolf Alice. Well worth seeing if you get the chance.
Wife and I are in our 40's, we do Reading and various gigs, sometimes I feel a bit self conscious, especially when we went to see Bring me the Horizon last year but we still enjoy ourselves.
If you like the band then don't let it worry you, Kings of Leon in the Summer had a wide mix of ages, I've been a fan since they hit the UK (15 odd years ago), why should I hit a certain age and then not enjoy them any more.

I saw bmth at the big weekend at powderham castle and thought they were excellent. I'm 50-something and still go to gigs when it's someone I want to see, and I'll still be going for the foreseeable! I think the only one where I felt my age was Pendulum but that was probably back around 2008-9 ish anyway. Epic gig btw. I've been to a lot over the years, too many to count/remember. I always go for the standing area, can't be doing with this sitting down politely malarkey.
I guess many of my target gigs are older bands now, not because of any age thing but because of what someone above called something like the auto-tuned pap thing So far this year I'm planning to see Paul Draper in March when he's playing AOTGL in full, and on my list of those I haven't seen but want to soon are Depeche Mode and The Cure - but then I'll probably be the youngest there!

I go to a fair number of gigs, now I'm in my 50s.
Sometimes most of the audience are my age (Bands like Peter Hook and the Light, Squeeze and the Beat, for example) and sometimes I'm the oldest by 20 years (like The Hoosiers I saw recently and the students were telling me this was the band they loved when they were 12! ).
Sometimes I go with my mid-20s daughter, but other times on my own, and whilst I'm sometimes aware I'm older than the average, I'm rarely the only one and everyone is there to have a good time, so age doesn't really seem to matter.
Obviously, if you don't like the music, you'll probably not enjoy yourself!
