Hmm never got into them back in the day.

One band I was into for their first few singles was InMe. Who I watched tonight. Turns out they have a tump of material and there's a lot of brilliant guitarwork on them! Really st hot tonight, loved it.

Press to MECO in support were superb as always. New band called Orcas on first... you can tell they are new to it all but I thought they were really good. Kinda like Black Peaks but maybe a little softer and with keyboards.
I'll check them out.

I'm off to slamdunk this weekend then have decades/cheap meat in june and hawthorne heights in august.

I'm also off to SlamDunk this weekend, then I've got nothing else planned for the rest of the year strangely. Looking at local gigs there's just nothing that catches my eye at all, not even just clicking on random bands and seeing what their music is like on Youtube.

Which one?

I'm at Birmingham.

Have a look at cheap meat or hawthorne heights there around this summer and cheap, also the asylums have a album out july so expecting tour news shortly.

Not really, if that's the music you like then balls to everyone else.

At least your going to watch them live rather than just listening to what ever crap heartfm play.

Hatfield, purely because we can go there and back in a day (100 miles away), had to get tickets for the after-party which we don't really want to go to as we left it late to get tickets but it wasn't much extra.

How did you get on?

I read the organisation was crap at Leeds,Hatfield?

I think we got away lightly at nec due to the sheer size of it, the main arena alone took over 6000.

Went to radio ones big weekend with my youngest on Saturday. Wasn’t particularly looking forward to it but it turned out to be a great day. Would have preferred Sunday as the lineup was better but as it was a free event it was a bit of a lottery as to what day you got. Highlight for me was Bring Me The Horizon.

Queue to get in was pretty crazy - I think they had 8 people checking the tickets of all 15000 people so it took us an hour to get in and we arrived at about 1.
Other than that I had no issues but I'm not a seasoned festival goer! Queues to the toilets and bars seemed fine, stages were far enough apart to be able to hear just one band at a time, didn't see any crowd trouble, food was OK.
The bands I saw were really good, Zebrahead being the stand out for me and that's who I went to see.

I have to admit we had no problems could go from main stage to the foutr year strong and back fine.

We ended up seeing a bit of capdown and king blues on the ska stage but it was all about pop punk for me so my highlights were hit the lights , starting line and yellowcard.

For the cost of the ticket they had some quality bands.

Just booked to see Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot at Somerset House in July.

'The South' were really excellent when we saw them in Aldershot a couple of years back, so I'm really looking forward to this, although it'll be quite something to be much better than that!

Most reviews, though, seem very positive, so I'm hopeful smile

Godskitchen last night at the O2 in brum. Unbelievable. Genuinely dont have the vocabulary to describe it. It was everything a trance night should be - the DJ's were fantastic, the crowd was friendly and wonderful, and the production (lights and sound) was simply phenomenal. 20 years of experience running fantastic nights distilled into 8 hours of an assault on the senses. What a way to bow out.

Off to see Stone Roses on Friday. We got tickets from "Twickets" 320 less than f/v and chose Friday because it has (in my opinion) the best support line up of the Manchester dates. Buzzcocks, The Coral, Public Enemy then SR.
I'm really looking forward to it, as I never got round to seeing Buzzcocks back in the day when I had several chances.
I have to admit to having to google The Coral and mini wijit likes Public Enemy, but I like some of their tracks.

Hope it's good, The Coral are great. I'm guessing that the Etihad will have things more organised than Heaton Park, what with it being used to cater for big crowds. My pal spent a fortune going to the Heaton Park gigs, the bars etc were a total shambles, and loads of Manc blokes all off their tits giving it the big monkey walk, wasn't the most welcoming of environments.

Never been to Heaton Park but was at the Etihad last week. The Etihad IS very organised....until the end of the gig when they shut roads to allow pedestrian egress. Best thing is not to park in the official stadium car parks or you'll be stuck for quite some time. I parked in the local Community Centre carpark. Cost £10 for the entire night and I got away very quickly.

Interesting to hear what you think. I saw them at a local club that has since closed, and was disappointed at the sound quality (which was atrocious) and the length of the gig - I think they were all done including encore in a bit over an hour. I don't think the poor sound was down to the venue as I'd seen SLF and the Damned there without the same problem.

I've seen Buzzcocks a few times but was also lucky enough to see them play at Glastonbury for the first time ever, way back in......2015. biggrin

A great band!
