Great debut albums

Isn't every band's 1st album their best album?
Not quite, but there are a lot of performers who never match their first. What would make a really interesting thread is "Great 2nd albums" - Usually there's a body of work to make a decent first album, but then they're rushed to 'ride the wave' and put out a second album in a short period of time, so nearly always the 'difficult 2nd album' is just that for the artist and the listener!
Some manage to pick up after that, but it's hard to think of many really good 2nd albums.

Suede - Suede (listened to it 100s of times when I was younger, and only one track that comes anywhere close to 'filler' IMHO)
Tracked and mixed through this console.Zod said:
It is a great album, much better than most of what followed in Britpop. The Drowners is probably the best of a bunch of very strong tracks, but Metal Mickey, So Young and Animal Nitrate are all superb.
To be honest I'm not familiar with the album Zod but I always kept an eye out who was recording in Master Rock after we installed that console, spent months in there in the late 80s, halcyon days.Bernard Butler blamed the delay in getting the console on the downfall of Master Rock (loss of studio time) unfortunately what Bernard Butler didn't take into account was this was build number 1 so there was always going to get problems before they were ironed out, it was a prototype, Stuart Holman would of realised this when he rushed to be the first in London with one of these consoles.
Scroll down halfway to Master Rock Studios.
