3 songs everyone should know
Discussion
There are many many magnificent songs that that go under the radar or really haven't got the awareness they deserve. I make this thread with the intention of bringing some treasures out of the unknown. These songs are usually by one hit wonders or bands that were only around for a year or two. Hopefully we'll all find some great tracks and maybe new artists.
Please nominate 3 tracks that you think should be much more well known.
My 3 are:
An Honest Mistake - The Bravery
Just another day - Jon Secada - not unknown at all but underrated and just epic.
Time of your song - Matisyahu

OK.
I'm looking through my "favourites" list on my 'tube account, and there's a few obscure ones on there that I would like to have some further recognition. The three from that list as follows :-
Chicago by Groove Armada
Belfast by Orbital
Picking a third was difficult, and it's going to be divisive to lots of people but it's a tune from a band when they were at their unpretentious best
Bad by U2

Deep Purple - You Keep On Moving. Rising head and shoulders above other tracks on the odd non Ritchie Blackmore "final" album - Come Taste The Band - this song is simply one of the best things Deep Purple EVER did.

Buckingham Nicks - Frozen Love. Just prior to joining Fleetwood Mac these 2 recorded a self titled album this track is from it.

Lose Again - This song was on a Linda Ronstadt album called "Hasten Down The Wind" she had chosen to record a few songs by a songwriter called Karla Bonoff This is slightly different take of the song that appeared on the album. The other album take is freely available on You Tube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji-Pe-svrXU
This song in turn led me to the original by Karla Bonoff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU8inRDAIw8
All 3 of those songs have been with me for around 40 years or so.
I have 3 others but I know I would be slaughtered if I posted them and accused of rip taking.

Some personal favourites:
I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love - Melanie. She was a bit bonkers apparently, but the crack in her voice on this just does something to my heart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rpo9xLgkMqs
Perfect Mark Of Cain - Jeff Finlin. I know this guy and he's so underrated as to be off almost everyone's radar. A great musician, but a superb songwriter, his songs are basically poetry set to music. This is one of his best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TYOgzAZQvA
In The Shape Of A Heart - Jackson Browne. I love story songs and this is a great story. Jackson is my all time favourite of all time, so that helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arUl7VK_vsY

Thank you. Sadly I would not have the first clue of how to provide a link. ( But they are great tracks.)
I'm genuinely so sorry I feel an idiot now but when I first put the links up I jokingly put attribute act for the foreigner song and a version by Taylor Swift for Bette Davis Eyes It was a well intentioned joke. I have corrected the links now and will freely admit to feeling an idiot !You put on some great tracks.
