^one of the finest mixes known to man is Barry white into Description of a fool at the start of the Back to Mine album.

That reminds me - the Bsack to Mine series of mix albums is also a great source of inspiration if you're track hunting.

That's the Groove Armada one with the mix into Barry White tune and also the track by Dayton.
That album is 16 years old, blimey! Happy days of partying late, walking home messed up and taking a few days to recover!

I know that, I used to have that album! Still have the CD cover, but the disc was lost in the Great Fire of Salford, 2009 =( Great CD that is tho.

There were others in the series but I think this was the first and the best.

Download the app KCRW Radio. Hit Eclectic 24. Also check out the music on demand they have. The recent album by Simian mobile disco (Whorl) is superb and very lo-fi sound compared to their previous stuff. A mix of theirs is available on demand on KCRW as well as 4 mixes on soundcloud app.

Jazz FM is another good app. Dinner jazz (if you're into that sort of thing) is great for chill out. As is the late lounge.

Finally, if you're into Bonobo and Jon Hopkins, check out Maribou State.

Late night motorway music for me... The Long Good Friday soundtrack, lots of Roy Budd / John Barry and the first track on Air's Moon Safari played several times in a row, spot on. Another favourite is 'Jaguar', a sublime track on the first 'Sound Gallery' cheesefest compilation from the mid / late '90s.

This fits in here, possibly.

However, what is it?

I'm not a fan of premier symptomes but the rest of the Air albums are pretty solid buys.

Zero 7 are also pretty good for chillz, especially Simple things

Had my first audition of this last night and I must say it's sublime, started to fall asleep toward the end of it laugh

Yet another vote for Zero 7 and "When it Falls"

A bit more left field is Nick Drake - particularly "northern sky" - which is frankly a masterpiece - and also "day is done" but that track is perhaps a bit 'final' for hospital radio!

WJNB, did you check out the DJ River mixes I mentioned earlier? I really think they're perfect for the kind of thing you're looking for.

I really like Olafur Arnalds, discovered him when he did the theme music to the TV drama Broadchurch. Very relaxing stuff.
