Sad news - I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Megadeth.

Rest in peace.

gutted about this, Megadeth were the first band I saw live, Poole Arts Centre Rust in Peace tour, whatever year that was.

Mick Menza threw his drum sticks into the audience at the end and I caught one!

It's up in the loft somewhere, ought to find it.

Terrible news this, and 51 being no age at all.

I'm convinced that Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction would not have been as good if Nick wasn't on drums. Tight, fast, and aggressive and I'll always remember his performance on this:

bit shocked about this - megadeth are one of my fave bands and on my bucket list of bands to see because of timing and circumstance i've never seen them live.

menza was a solid part of a transitional band over the years which counts for something and he recorded with marty friedman after 'deth.

i saw him at birmingham on the clash of the titans tour. mustaine/ellifson/menza/friedman was the best megadeth line up by a country mile...

dave lombardo was a great drummer for slayer. nick menza blew him away that night 25 years ago....
