I've had to jib out unfortunately. Had a heart attack on 31/3, am recovering (and feel totally fine) but Mrs PT is not keen on me doing 4 nights on the sauce with my mates, miles from any hospital, just in case I have an unexpected 'event'. She doesn't do Glastonbury as it's too big for her.

Probably best to sit it out but it will feel weird watching it at home on TV having been to every one since 2008.

On the plus side, I made contact with someone on Twitter earlier who is excited to be going for the first time, on a ticket obtained in the resale - could be mine that they got! Good to hear that someone got lucky out of other people's misfortune.

sorry to hear that PT, for the best as I wouldn't be going to Glasto with any pre-condition of the heart or liver!!

Will be leaving home in the next hour, hope the queues in the heat aren't too bad.

I'm at work today, and then heading down.

Got a friend setting my tent up this morning, hopefully I'll get to the tent by midnight!

Finally all packed, I'll be heading off in about 6 hours.

I've gone on the Thursday over the last 3 years and always miss the big queues that Wednesday brings.

Can't wait. biggrinbiggrin

Came yesterday, good 3.5 hour run from London bar a bit of M4 roadworks.

Straight in to Pilton with zero queues though I have the advantage of a villager car pass.

Eased in to festivities in my usual style with shangri la till 2am, so hot yesterday but much cooler and cloudy today - supposed to be brighter later today

Not going this year, as I'm on a three week holiday in Mallorca. My son flew out from here on Tuesday and arrived there yesterday after a spell at home doing a bit of work prior to his set at the Unfairground at 2.00am tomorrow morning. Then, after a bit of sleep and seeing a few people in the industry (the best thing about the place, he says, is that everyone is there), he is decamping and going to a stag weekend in Derbyshire. Returns to the sunshine island on Monday.
I'm just happy to be out of earshot of Emili Sandé. 800 miles should be sufficient.
Maybe next year. Depends who's on. I'm just grateful I'm not involved in the unseemly scramble for tickets.

Thanks for your sour grapes post - not going because you don't like one act is truly dumbass

Good luck getting a ticket next year - you might struggle rofl

Just turn up anyway next year. I'm sure there will be plenty of space hehe

It is also pretty rare that they announce the acts before the sale of tickets. Other than occasional rumours, what you get is what you get.

rofl indeed. I never understand the mentality of people slating one particular act when there are literally hundreds of other stages to choose from. I've never in all my years of going not been able to pack my schedule out with something I want to see, that's the utter brilliance of it.

I'm quite glad of the fallow year next year, I've got the itch to cycle John O'Groats to Land's End over 2 weeks - it would be logistically helpful to me to not have the distraction of Glastonbury, holiday-wise.

Gotta say I'm loving all the BBC iPlayer coverage, my work from home day today is infinitely better than normal thanks to that.

London Grammar were the set of the weekend imo.

Her voice is unreal, so harrowing yet such a good energy from the set.

Work today is going to be a struggle...
