Atom Seed.
Anyone remember them?
Great live band when they were around, saw them a few times..Anyone remember them?
Probably one of those bands whose career ended as grunge kicked off.
They made a very good grungy EP, recorded an album in a similar vein, but split before it was released, sadly.

I think the reason Jeff Buckley didn't release a second album was because he died. Just saying...
So did 2Pac but that didn't stop himJohnnytheboy said:

Atom Seed and Scat Opera were two really good British bands around then who just disappeared unfortunately.

Was going to try and be smart and suggest Animal Logic - three-piece band featuring Stewart Copeland, Stanley Clarke and Deborah Holland. Really enjoyed their one album... but a quick check on Wikipedia suggests they did a follow-up.
They did. Funnily enough, I think the second album is available on Spotify but the first one isn't. The first album is the better record but the second one has some great songs and a top lead single in 'Rose Coloured Glasses'. The first album is iconic for me though. Reminds me so much of being 18, playing Test Drive Unlimited and playing bass every day. I used to play along with 'There's a spy (in the house of love)' on my fretless bass.Loyly said:

Another one from me; can't believe I overlooked this; it's exquisite.
Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis.
For the youngsters, Mark Hollis was the lead singer of the genuinely enigmatic Talk Talk, who started off with shiney electro-pop and ended up deconstructing song form, by degrees, over five albums in nine years. Their 1986 Live in Montreaux concert (you tube is your friend) is amazing.
The solo album dates from about 1998, and that's pretty much it; he quit, having achieved all he wanted to; no compromises.
Agree with all of that.........prefer the last couple of Talk Talk albums though. Saw them at Manchester Apollo on the same tour as that Montreaux concert. Brilliant.Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis.

Pitching in with a couple of late entries...
King Blank, The Real Dirt - RIP Ian Lowery (vocals)
Engineered by Harold Burgeon (Ten Years After/Alvin Lee) and assisted by yours truly!
Nigel Pulsford on guitar went on to play in Bush.
Skin Games, The Blood Rush - RIP Dave Innes (Drums)
Produced by Steve Hillage, I assisted on the demo's before they finished the album in 'big' studios.
Very different 'one release' albums from my early days of working in studios. Both worth listening to on good equipment if you can find good sources.

I was going to suggest Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, but I'm still not sure it is a wonder or not.
Then I realised they had released another.
Seahorses was a decent one off. Not sure how well it stands the test of time.
Ramshackled by Alan White. Giddy is a great track.
Seahorses is a great example. I still listen to tracks from the album now. They were great live, too. Then I realised they had released another.
