As I type I'm at Main Square Festival, Arras. Looking forward to Radiohead headlining this evening. Did anyone else on here go?
What is that festival like? I have seen videos of bands playing there and it genuinely does look to be in some sort of town square or similar, worth a visit?

We went 5 yrs ago and had a fabulous time. Arras is a lovely small town, with what is essentially a large walled city square, the festival is within the grounds of that. We had a fantastic time there, I would recommend it.

+1 I'll be going again depending on the line up. Very picturesque town with plenty to do apart from the festival itself.
It makes a great excuse for a long weekend away and seeing possibly my favourite band.

Saw Nothing But Thieves at Glastonbury, seeing them again at another festival in a few weeks and going to get tickets to the Nottingham gig in November. Went to see them on a recommendation from a mate and I've got right into them, cracking band.

I got dragged along to see them by a work colleague a few years ago - before their EP was released and they were even covering Led Zep songs. Even ended up buying the band a drink. It's the lighter end of my listening preferences, but they're really good live.

Subsequently, seen them 4 or 5 times, and the stuff they've showcased from the forthcoming second album is sounding promising. If you haven't got it, it's worth getting the Deluxe edition of the album with the extra 4 songs. The BBC coverage of Glasto didn't seem to do Conor's voice justice TBH. They've just announced a series of gigs in November that go on general sale on Friday.

Saw Cabbage at the Ritz on Saturday. Pretty much chaos from the first support act until the end. Excellent

Got the deluxe edition, it's a cracking album thumbup

Difficult to compare his voice as it's the only time I've seen them, but he seemed to be doing a pretty good job from where I was standing by the sound desk (you can see me on the footage when the sound guy gets his birthday pint). Saw that the tour goes on sale Friday, I've got a reminder set to get me and a few mates tickets for Nottingham/Rock City.

A lot of places struggle with his voice for the first few songs!

Gave in and booked to see Peter Hook do the Substance albums live.

I've seen him twice before, first time was the JD albums and very good. The second was the first two NO albums and I didn't enjoy it anything like as much, perhaps because the first album is a bit patchy?

I wasn't going to go, but I suspect the 'greatest hits' consistency of Substance will guarantee a more enjoyable performance - We shall see.

My daughter and I are also going to see The Beat (Rankin' Roger's outfit) just before Christmas. We saw them in Reading a couple of years ago and it was toptastic (Not 'arf!), so I'm hoping it'll be good again. Only downside I can see is that they're double-billing with The Selecter who I have bad memories of back in the heyday of Ska, despite liking their recordings at the time...

Oh well, time to give them a chance to redeem themselves I guess biggrin

Was supposed to be seeing Green Day in about 6 hours, but the promoter cancelled at about 20 to 2 this afternoon mad

FYI just realised you can get tickets for the tour tomorrow morning via O2 priority, but seemingly not for the Nottingham gig frown

I had a presale code - so that sorted me out at 9am

They are blaming the weather, but apparently they haven't got the stage setup in time.

The deleted tweet about not being ready is copied here.

Looks like the promoter has made a mess of it and is telling lies.

That latest iteration of New Order are well worth seeking out.
I am sure PH wouldn't agree.

Yeah, saw them at Brixton last two tours - Excellent last time 'round.

People there were saying they'd never been better live!

Seen PH & The Light for the last 2 years (going again in December) and seen New Order in Manchester last year.

Both were excellent.

Blink 182 in Birmingham on Friday was good, I only went to see Travis drum tbh though even though I was a Blink fan in school.

UFO in September.

Saw Rainbow a few weeks ago. They weren't very good. The support, The Sweet (Hellraiser, Blockbuster, Fox on the Run etc) was better.
