did you watch the asylums?
I did actually! Didn't plan on it they happened to be on when I was in the tent. I liked them.
what we're your thoughts on there lead guitarist smile
I remarked to the Mrs that the whole band seemed tight. I enjoyed the riffs and didn't notice any fluffed notes. All said very good. Why..?
We 1st seen them supporting ash and i couldn't work out if he was tripping off his tits or just a bit mental , they played bristol exchange last year to about 30 of us and the singer still crowd surfed .

By quite a distance the worst festival I've been to. Full of chavs, terrible organisation and next to no security or stewarding. I'll not be going back.

Napalm Death again in October, tickets and day after work leave booked. Hopefully ok for the Spring Cycle over the Harbour Bridge following that.

Agreed on organisation and security/stewarding. Can't say I noticed a large amount of chavs although it is the first festival I've seen a fight break out in (while watching Stereophonics bizarrely)

That's the trouble when you get non gig-goers on there 1 night out in a blue moon.

Somebody bumps into them and spills there drink and they over react , normal gig and nobodies really bothered .

They were heaps of chavvy bds where I was camping, and very noticeable during Feeder on the Thursday when they tried to start what they thought was a mosh pit (during 'Comfort in Sound' - really???) which was actually just drunk teenagers in tracksuits pretending to fight each other. Plus loads of wkers throwing half drunk cans and cups of piss into the crowd throughout - fking animals. Called one kid out for doing it and he just said 'it's what people do at festivals you tt'. As egor says above, it only seemed to be knob head kids who hadn't ever been to a proper gig before.

On the upside, I did see some good sets from Beans on Toast, Jaguar Skills, Cast, Frank Turner and Palace (really good indie band I'd heartily recommend). Special mention to Jake Bugg for being so predictably awful.

I definitely won't be going back, although I'd wager it probably won't happen next year because of all the problems this year.

Not just knob head kids , far more often to be mr and mrs on there one night a month out and think there should be entitled to a certain amount of space whilst stood next to the barrier .

Or moaning that they've spent all that money and can't see or what really fks me off , trying to get there perfect 'date night' selfie with the band in the back ground.

I didn't get there for Thursday so missed Feeder (seen them loads before anyway).

I really enjoyed Jake Bugg but I'm a fan. I get why people wouldn't enjoy him and it didn't translate that well to an open air stage. Simple Pleasures was perfect and that's my favourite song by him.

Just home from Garbage and Blondie...
Some strange looking folk in the audience, but both artists still had it..

Debbie Harry is 72
Shirley Manson is 50

After seeing the Stones last year, which was also great, the girls are still managing to get it done. So many hits and some great lyrics.

I went to the London Star Shaped on Saturday, was bloody brilliant. I had a totl crush on Ms Wener back in the day, never got to see them live, so this was a 20yr wait fulfilled. Bloody brillinat! I thought My Life Story and Dodgy were excellent too, had to leg it before The Bluetones, but I've seen them loads recently so no great loss.

If you loved Britpop and are near Glasgow or Manchester I would heartily recommend the remaining Star Shaped dates.

Had Victorious Festival at the weekend. It was fantastic! Apart from the toilets being... let's say... less than clean at the end of the day, it was really good. Very chilled out, no bottles/cups being thrown around, and very few numpties. I'll be going again next year, definitely!

My year hasn't changed, so still looks like this:

Mar - Seafret @ The Bullingdon, Oxford
Mar - Bear's Den @ o2 Academy, Oxford
Mar - Crowbar @ Bierkeller, Bristol
Apr - Cigarettes After Sex @ Koko, London
May - Seafret @ Thekla, Bristol
Jun - Download Festival, Donington Park
Jul - Stereophonics @ Oasis, Swindon
Aug - Victorious Festival, Portsmouth
Sep - Lewis Capaldi @ Crofters Rights, Bristol
Oct - Amber Run @ o2 Academy, Oxford
Oct - Dizzee Rascal @ o2 Academy, Bristol
Nov - The Smyths @ Komedia, Bath
