it could have been our position in the arena but the majority of people I spoke to that were there and facebook feedback echoed my sentiments.

I actually thought at first he was using a harmonizer as something just didn't sound "right" it could well have been the mix but it was really bad for us which is a shame - it was my 8th maiden gig so I can forgive them a poor night if that's what it was

Saw them a few years ago supporting the late Scott Weiland. They were amazing live, and boy can she sing.

I think I saw them supporting Slash. Shame they're just the support act.

Woo hoo! Just got great seats for Kid Creole and the Coconuts at The Barbican centre for this Saturday.

Listened to them for years and they have a special place in our family personality.

Very p!eased.

Amber Run last night, supported by a band I didn't catch the name of, and Seafret.

Third time seeing Seafret, and in all honesty the only reason I went! Seafret were great, but noticed the bass was a bit heavy. When Amber Run came on, it was too bassy to hear the lead singer properly, which was a shame.

Really nice to get a seat at the gig and just chill out though, especially as I was on my own.

That was my thought (or hope) for next year - Prophets would be great.
Prophets of Rage are a seriously good gig! Saw them in Berlin earlier this year, can't make Kentish Town so we're really hoping for more UK dates.
I have Gogol Bordello/Lucky Chops and Alice Cooper coming up. Hopefully Postmodern Jukebox next year too.

yes PoR was a real fun gig. Went to Brixton with Matt172 in the summer.

Seem to be doing quite a decent tour for a non-UK band - I'm seeing them in Norwich (again, they were brilliant this year).

Been talked into Opeth for my son, quite like the Sorceress so didn't need that much convincing. Also been talked into Moose Blood by my daughter.

Booked Machine Head and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for me. Hoping to book Paradise Lost on Friday when the tickets go on sale, their new album is much better than the recent efforts with the return of a heavier sound.

Very tempted to book Hellfest for next year. Would mean I do Download the travel to France for Le Mans, couple of days off in France, then Hellfest traveling back to the UK Monday morning. Think it would be a great two weeks and a bit off.

Updated list:
Current list looks like:
October - Metallica for my son
November - Opeth, Morbid Angel
December - Mastodon, Memoriam, Prodigy
Feb - Front Bottoms for my daughter
March - Moose Blood, Cannibal Corpse, Belle and Sebastian
May - Machine Head, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
June - Download for my son
August - Bloodstock
August - End of the Road for my daughter

I was tempted with that when it popped up on my Facebook feed but £44 eek saw them the 1st time round a few times, Leeds University I think, and I'm sure it was just a bit cheaper than that! hehe

Got guest-list tickets to see Gary Numan at Brixton on Saturday. I'm told they may be backstage tickets. I've been nagging my mate in the industry to get these for me since the tour was announced.

Really looking forward to it, I'm about the same age as him, grew up with his early music. Love the way his sound has changed and developed, if he plays Down in the Park and Love Hurt Bleed I'll be happy as a pig in poo.

Just seen Goldfrapp mentioned above, would really like to see her/them. Might have a look whether there are any tickets yet (or bend matey's ear again!).

From the playlists I’ve seen so far, you will not be disappointed, I’m really pissed off missing him this time around.

thumbup

Never thought of Googling setlists. I was kind of expecting a run through Savage and a few more thrown in but looks like he's going right across the back catalogue. That's excellent news, ta!

Saw Tom McRae at The Horn in St Albans last night. Just a small function room at the back of the pub, but an incredible set and everything I've come to expect from Tom, including a really nice tribute to Tom Petty at the end.

Great burgers in the pub too!

Tickets still available for their UK gigs except for Manchester, Bristol and Brighton. Would definitely recommend seeing them live!
