Stevie Wonder, still sings his song in their original keys.
I was just about to type the exact same thing. He sang the whole 'Songs in the Key of Life' album in Hyde Park last year.... all sang in the same keys as the original album..... incredible.

I'll tell you who hasn't still got it - Ian Gillan. Saw the Deep Purple concert on the beeb last night. Rest of the band was excellent but Gillan should give it up.
Heard a snatch on the radio and thought exactly that. Dreadful. I saw them at Excel a few years ago and he was on superb form. Sad, really.ETA: just checked and it was 2008!!!

I don't think anyone who has seen Depeche Mode this year would disagree that they still have it - they just seem to get better with age..
Both the London shows I've been to this year have been superb.
I'll put my hand up and say it's the 1st time for me live but always been a fan since 'new life'Both the London shows I've been to this year have been superb.
Manc Arena
Just brilliant, they plugged new album - and why not and it has its merits. We have to move on.
Only downside no 'policy of truth'

Most bands loose it over a long period, especially vocalists.
In reply to a couple of the above - I love Iggy Pop and while he remains good he does not compare vocally to the eighties gigs I saw (and i fully respect his body does not want to move around as much). New Order were always a great shambles but now with Barneys "whooping" weak vocals and a doing it for the money feel they do not cut it. Metallica rock but they have lost their snarl. Hetfield really had the passion in the first two LPs and tours.
The ones still grooving? Massive Attack surprised me how good they still are recently and Robert Plant sounded great on a radio gig the other day.
Always thought Motorhead were tight till the nearly the end - quite some feat.

Saw both Depeche Mode and Bruce Springsteen this year, neither in the first flush of youth, but both very much still on it....Bruce was on for over 3 hrs!!
Only seen Bruce on the Born In The Usa tour (circa 85) but do wish I had seen him in the years up to 1981, the video clips from the 78 and 80 shows on youtube must of been some of the best concerts in the history of music imho just wish I was at one of them.Gassing Station | Music | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
