agreed!! absolutely brilliant gig.

wasnt too sure how ashcroft was going to fit in with the stones, but he was great. forgot how many good tunes him/ the verve have.

But the stones....... what can you say..... it was me and my friends first time seeing them, but they were absolutely brilliant. so many hits, still sound brilliant, great backing singers/ touring musicians, the stage set up, the screens, the sound........ worth every penny.

Have a great weekend! biggrin
Sure did smile Main bands:

Volbeat aced it.
Bullet were fantastic
Avenged - the whole show was amazing - how they didn't burn the whole fking place down with the amount of fire!!

Thunder - never heard them, but put on a great show
Black stone cherry - fking amazing live, sound so much better than studio albums
Guns N Roses - Wow they fking aced it!! not a massive fan, but they were amazing.
The whole arena was absolutely rammed, half the people who camped at the barrier all day long had to be fished out by security
as they were getting crushed to fk.
Photo around 30 mins before it even started!

Shinedown - i was not expecting much a there albums sound as dull as fk, only turned up to get a decent spot for Manson, however i actually thought it was great, the singer had some great energy!
Manson - Manson was Manson!! - Either he is a fantastic actor, or he was truly off his tits on drugs, however the rest of the band made up along with knowing most of the songs and it was good fun.

Ozzy - Probably the biggest surprise, after having watched some of his recent gigs on youtube, he was fking amazing compared to these, and the crowd was almost as big as guns, when they played Paranoid last thing, the crowd went fking wild.

Great weekend.

Glad to hear that you had a good time! biggrin

Brent (Shinedown lead singer) mimes a lot; certainly has been the times that I have seen them, well known thing. Good sing along tunes though.

Manson is always hit and miss IMO, I've seen him put some amazing performances in and I've see a few car crashes too. He will almost certainly have been high as fk hehe

I have heard a lot of good things about Ozzys performance this last few days. Rumours abound that him and Judas Priest are touring together in February next year - yes please!

Having seen Black Stone Cherry are touring the UK, I'll be doing my very best to get tickets when they go on sale on Friday. I've not seen them live, but heard very good things. Supported by The Cadallic Three and Monster Truck so should be a good night.

Really, not good?

Sounded amazing at Glastonbury. My wife and I are taking our daughter tomorrow - we're looking forward to it (no plans for reading glasses!).

I caught the tail end of his Glastonbury set from the side of the stage in 2015, which was admittedly a bit better than the first time I saw him. The first time I saw him perform was a few months before that at Birmingham Arena on his second album tour. Was really looking forward to it, but I came away feeling more disappointed than I've been after any gig. He looked and acted as if he desperately didn't want to be there, called out and berated members of the audience for sending texts on their phones during the gig and only played one song from his first album. The set had no flow or cohesion (sounds wishy washy but that's the best way of describing it), just sounded like one long miserable musical whinge, and me and the person I was with both agreed we would have left half way through had we not paid £40-odd quid to be there.

Hope that doesn't put you on a downer, as he is a genuinely talented songwriter and has the ability to pull it out the bag as per his 2013 glasto set. Fingers crossed for you that he's on better form tomorrow!

Hi all,

Neil here. I managed to watched the Rolling Stones for the first time this over the weekend.

Fantastic and so much energy for their age.

Cracking.

Hi Neil Chambers.

You surprise me, Neil Chambers. I thought you'd prefer Chamber music?

Geddit, Neil Chambers? Chamber music and your surname is 'Chambers'?

I did hear about something similar - http://www.supajam.com/news/story/Ben-Howard-upset...

I have a recording of the Glasto 2015 set on my Sky box which I dig out almost weekly at the moment. Maybe it works better on camera, but it does it for me :-)

We'll see how tomorrow goes. It's our daughter's first proper gig so the experience alone will count for a lot.

Had the misfortune of seeing them as support a couple of times. The Nickleback of hard rock. They are actually better live, but even live they're dreadful schoolboy rock. A pub band that superficially sounds big, but with no underlying tune whatsoever. Ever tried differentiating one song of theirs from another? - precisely. They all just blend seamlessly into some background southern rock white noise. Even some amusing Spinal Tap moments last time I saw them as they promoted themselves from the local Apollo to the local Arena - but only brought the same number of fans hehe
