Gig Plans - 2018
Discussion
A few coming up for 2018. Greta Van Fleet in London now they have added another date, Shinedown in Brixton, Def Leppard at the O2, Thunders christmas show and a cheeky Dirty DC at the Dorking halls ( they are a fantastic AC/DC tribute band well worth checking out).
Tried to get the ball rolling for 2019 with tickets to see Slash at Hammersmith in Feb but no tickets left on both pre sales at 9am!

We managed to get slash tickets no problem. managed 2 in the presale (from ordering the album) and then 6 (3 people bought 2 tickets) in general sale on the friday. they were limited to 2 tickets per person/ transaction, seemed to work pretty well for us.malks222 said:

I wish that had been the case for me! I had pre sale on the monday with My O2 and then on the Tuesday with livenation but at 1 second past 9 on both days there wasn't anything left. Don't suppose you would like to sell a couple for Hammersmith thatjagbloke said:

Got my Nick Mason ticket and digging out my old flares and floral shirt this weekend. I’m really looking forward to the show.
But for musical perfection to move your soul then you won’t do better than Camel. I saw them in July and the sound and performance was beyond what I can describe. Seeing them again next month in Birmingham and I’m rather ecstatic about that.

Good to see someone keeping the memory of Syd Barrett alive.
The first two Floyd albums were the best in my opinion.

Only problem was standing tickets. These old knees can do that any more.

Saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets last night in birmingham with GregE240.
Wow. fking brilliant gig.
Great seats, fab acoustics, really clear PA... brilliant. As for the music itself. Stunning. Nothing quite like serious musicians enjoying themselves and breathing life into old songs - has made me want to dig out the early Floyd stuff again.
... and oh boy, did I get Gary Kemp wrong. Seriously impressive guitarist.
Next up... Halestorm on Friday.

Like you, I don’t get it. Frustrating - especially at some gigs where tickets are hard to come by
Rather that than holding a shouted conversation with their mate throughout during the performance...M
Halestorm last night at Brixton, and despite not really being in the mood, they were seriously impressive.
Sounds levels were spot on - clear, and loud. Arejay is a proper showman on the drums, and Lzzy is quite frankly one of the most incredible rock singers out there. Wow.
Crowd were a funny lot though. Been a long time since i’ve seem that many people in such a state through booze. Generally good natured, really happy to engage, but given the way they were dressed you’d have thought we were at a Slauer gig... not one of the more poppy rock bands!

4 left this year.
Garbage this Friday (Brixton Academy)
Soft Cell, 30th September (O2 Arena)
Rudimental, 27th October (Alexandra Palace)
Melody Gardot, 25th November (Royal Festival Hall).
Soft Cell last night was superb. Marc Almond's voice is at least as good as it ever was (saw him with Jools Holland not that long after his accident and it was weaker then).Garbage this Friday (Brixton Academy)

Dave Bell was hilarious - spent the whole gig hiding behind his keyboards and laughing when Marc either forgot what the next song was, or in one case, forgot the lyrics!
Brief guest appearance by Mari Wilson was great too.
