Had a bit of culture yesterday... Birmingham symphony orchestra and Birmingham choir performing some popular classical music at the symphony hall.
It may not have been a “gig” as such, but epic performances.
Normal service resumes tomorrow...
Was it the Cathedral Choir? I saw Birmingham Symphony Orchestra years ago at Symphony Hall performing Beethoven’s Ninth with the Birmingham Cathedral Choir and it was spine tingling, a stand out performance. It may not have been a “gig” as such, but epic performances.

Tickets arrived today, massively looking forward to this; Numan; Symphony Hall; one of only six concerts with an orchestra; once in a lifetime stuffAlso got guest list/backstage tickets for the Groove Armada 21 gig at the Electric in Dec. Will be having a beer with the tall man.

Went to see Less Than Jake co-headlining with Reel Big Fish last night, a few hours before the show the venue emailed with the stage times and I found out the support was Suburban Legends and Zebrahead! As a pop punk fan it was a fantastic surprise to have these two, even if they were only support sets.
So 2 Greta Van Fleets gigs in 3 days.... London and Birmingham.
Handily, there were different setlists so that was a bonus Very, very different crowds ar each venue which was a bit of a surprise.
They are some very taelnted musicians, but their catalogue isn't quite big enough yet to fill a full set - so we did have some 8 minute guitar solos to pad things out, which is a bit of a shame. IMO, they'd be better doing what Royal Blood did in the early days and play every song in their catalogue, or what Nothing But Thieves did and add a few choice covers.
I susepct it wont be long iuntil they're doing arenas...
The Last Internationale next Thursday

What can I say? Utterly brilliant show in a sold out premium venue. GN has tweeted it was one of his best ever nights The Skaparis Orchestra were fantastic. Magnifico

Think I should have got tickets for the RAH or Shepherd's Bush for this, wasn't sure it would work so didn't bother to be honest but it appears it did. Thought it might just be a case of jumping on the recent bandwagon of doing the "orchestral thing" and really couldn't see how it would compliment his post 2000 output. Pretty sure though "Films","Metal" and "DITP" must have sounded absolutely awesome with an orchestra.https://www.expressandstar.com/entertainment/2018/...
Great to see him back to the level of success he deserves.
Been a busy month! Two weeks ago we went down to Glasgow for The Prodigy on the Friday, Cancer Bats & Anti Flag then back up to Aberdeen for Skindred on the Sunday. Now this afternoon I'm finishing early at work to head down to glasgow to go see InMe, A & Wheetus.
Not fussed about Wheetus but InMe are tremendous live & are recording new stuff. A should be good, too. Playing the entirety of the Hi-Fi Serious album, which was actually really good!

Rather than prematurely start a 'Gig Plans - 2020' thread - What about Elton John selling tickets for shows 2 years away? I might not be alive by then...
We were speaking about him all but 5 minutes ago in the office. Is he skint at the moment or something as he seems to be everywhere!Rod200SX said:
