That is one hell of a line-up!

Do we *ever* get shows like that here?

Have you been to that festival before? Shame it's in Spain.

(I don't mean 'shame it's abroad'; just shame it's in Spain! biggrin )

Nah, I haven't seen a festival lineup like that in the UK before, Glasto gets some diverse acts but nothing like that me thinks. I'm 29 and have only ever known of Pearljam headlining one UK festival; Leeds and Reading 2006 (two, I guess, but yknow). I saw them at Leeds and it was amazing, they may have done other UK festivals in the past but it will have been back when ah war' ah lad and certainly before that Roskilde incident

As an aside they were booked for Download in 2013 but pulled out and were replaced by Slipknot, the promoter Andy Copping talked about it some time ago, they have a reticence about playing a festival with the image that Download has, sadly

I have never been to Mad Cool but I would like to! One of the final headliners is the Artic Monkey's apparently

The only mainland festival that I have been to is Hellfest (2017), I'm heading back for the 2018 weekend, but with my brother rather than my now ex partner who I went to this years festival with

My brothers live music experiences are the Metallica day at Leeds in 2015 and seeing Jane's Addiction/Nine Inch Nails in Manchester way back in 2009, it's gonna be an eye opener for him hehe

've seen them every time they go to Brum and do a small venue right from their first UK Tour when they played at Goldwyn’s. I've managed to meet Trent a couple of times, back when they had their fanclub thing still going, they even did a sound check once for us, fking awesome.

Decided to go to Incineration Festival next year, mostly as its way past time that I saw Taake and Master's Hammer:

Paradise Lost in Manchester is my only definite.

Most of my favourite bands don't announce particularly far in advance, one of them has announced something for 2018, but it's the week after my wedding so unlikely. I'm optimistic some things will be announced for the first half of the year soon though.

I've decided today I might go to see Jesus Jones in Sheffield.

Incineration Festival is a very decent lineup for something in the UK, but nobody there is a must see; so I'll probably not go.

I cancelled my ticket for the rearranged Electric Six gig in Southampton as the new date wasn't convenient.

I'd toyed with going to see "Joan As Police Woman" in London, but it was the day after I return from a long haul trip, so I decided against it, but I saw she was doing a signing/live gig at Rough Trade in February, so I've signed up for that - Won't be a proper gig, but should be fun!

So far I have Anti-Nowhere League at Manchester Academy and Joe Lycett in Manchester.
Thinking of Iron Maiden, Billy Idol and The Stranglers & hoping KISS announce an arena date here (last one being cancelled following the terrorist scum attack-the only time I wasn’t bothered about a cancellation).
I’d also like Prophets of Rage to do a UK tour.
Just remembered, I have another punk night at a small bar in Adhton under Lyne. A band called Drongoes for Europe are at that-worth seeing if you like a bit of punk.

I've ended up with one ticket for the Albert Hall and a pair for the Troxy. Rather than selling the single I think I might just see him twice. Which ones are you going to?

Just noticed Joe Bonamassa's UK tour commence in March.

He's become far too expensive, so that will be a pass.

My resolution this year is to only go to gigs costing less than £25, and not to see any band I've seen before.

I think i'll be attending that Cure/Interpol/Editors/Ride/Slowdive show. What an utterly ridiculous line up.
I thought the line up to be very strong to be honest and was struggling to think of any negatives at all, but hey we all have different tastes. Probably only downside is it'll only be a 2 hour Cure show rather than the usual 3 hours plus..........
I'll be at this.

Also possibly U2 in October.

May - Frank Turner's festival thing, going on the Sunday night acoustic set as I prefer him solo
Well it seems I'll be seeing Frank Turner twice in a week as the Wednesday before that festival thing I'm (hopefully, tickets out on Friday) seeing him in Norwich!

Already booked Download, but thinking of doing Teddy rock festival in Dorset as well.

£70 is worth it just for Feeder, Ash and Inme.

Set so far.

Never heard of it before.
