You can see your Spotify stats for 2017 on https://2017wrapped.com

Apparently I have listened to 28,358 minutes, 2,703 different songs and 1,395 different artists throughout the year. My top five songs include two each from AC/DC and Imagine Dragons rounded off by If You Wanna by The Vaccines.

What were everyone else's listening habits this year?

Michael Kiwanuka had 3 of the top songs, I've played that album constantly and also have tracks in various playlists.

"Because in a year many wanted to tune out, music gave us a reason to keep listening."

What's that all about then? I go to Spotify for music, not veiled political comment, if that's what it is.

McCoy Tyner, by the way.

Surprisingly Run The Jewels was my top artists. I thought it would be Holding Absence.

Creep by Radiohead was my song... but I've been learning it to play with the band so that's why...

I fall asleep to Spotify some times which has skewed several results -> for example Papa Roach appearing in my top artists... I fell asleep listening to that album twice and it repeated all night.

Also I listen to a lot of my music loaded onto my phone and also on a cd player in the kitchen. Mastodon got most of it's spins the kitchen and is one of my albums of the year, whereas SikTh was mostly played on my phone instead of through spotify.

Last.fm is a slightly more accurate track for me, obviously still misses out on the cd players. SikTh are my top artist on there. Holding Absence - Permanent is my top track. 1639 artists, 6274 songs.

I mainly listen in the car on the way to and from work. I have a playlist made up of favourite bands and albums that I keep adding to when I hear something good on 6 music in the office (currently 1300 songs), then sometimes put a new album on repeat for a while, then back to the playlist. So I could have said without thinking about it that REM, Pink, Bjork, Radiohead and Skunk Anansie would be the top artists, top genres would be variations of rock (rock, alternative rock, indie rock, modern rock, pop rock). Top songs are from the Christine and the Queens albums after seeing them on Jools Hootenanny and the New York from the St Vincent album, so I must have had those on repeat a lot.

I've saved the Ones That Got Away playlist, but I'm taking exception to them putting Morrisey on there!?!?!?!!... so thats 29/30 on there that seem ok.
